^^ I'd personally go for toning down that whole arm and just focusing on his claw. Make it huge and crustacean-y if you catch my drift. I'm digging the head, but something is a little off about it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but overall I really do dig this design. I'm a huge fan of Frenzy Bros. and generally any vinyl toy that's more humanoid in anatomy, so I really dig that body build on him.
I like the Mutant arm, it's my favorite part haha, I just wanted to do something with loads of detail/texture at least on certain parts of him besides his scales, so I added the mutant arm, It's going to be alot more then just a bunch of abstract squigglies. It's going to have crude wires and hoses along with ripped up pustules bubbling on the skin, I really wanted to have some of those elements for my first toy, so i figured the robotic arm would be perfect for that, He's a totally different character now, so I'm switching his name to Krang. I appreciate the comments though, thats why Im putting pictures up.
also here's a practice bust of Krull the Barbarian that Im still working on. This is my first actual human bust, I'm really liking the way its looking so far, very proud of myself, i know It def looks very amature-ish but I just got into sculpting seriously, I'm a graphic designer by trade and I do illustrations too, so I guess that helps out some, but I'm still learning. Ive been itching to start sculpting a Kaiju Monster but I'm making myself sculpt a human head first. I figured if I can work within the boundaries of human anatomy decently then I could def incorporate what I learned into something a little more imaginative like a monster that gives me a little more creative. Tell me what ya think, I really appreciated the critiques on my last two drawings. It helped out alot. freedom.
https://conan-conan.bandcamp.com/track/krull very good for just getting into sculpting. clean and no obvious toolmarks as texture like you usually see on first sculpts
Brothers from another mother. Comin' along on the sculpt. Gotta rework the bottom hand and smooth it out a bit.
Hand-painted back patch that I finished up a few days ago. Acrylic paint on twill. Created references in photoshop then printed them out. Sketched in white colored pencil then painted from sight. I'm pretty happy with the end result!
Did you wear that to the Bloody Massacre show? Cuz if so I was basically standing right behind you almost the entire time.
Yessir! I think next time I'm just going to have to introduce myself to every person I haven't met before because I know I'm surrounded by people I want to meet I'm just too damn awkward. I got called last in the lotto so I did do quite a bit of standing around haha!
I was planning on buying a shirt but the lottery was taking too damn long so we left. We were there for two hours and i don't think HALF of the pieces were sold yet. Yeesh. Swamp ass central over here.
Does this count? I used to bomb walls like crazy when I was younger.. Then I got arrested and beat up by the cops on numerous occasions.. Blackbook throw ups..
