so I don't know if I am the only person crazy enough to have thought about pulling together a personal uniform, kinda like TV cartoons were you wear the same thing every day but not in a punk rock I smell like shit kinda way but an I have 36 pairs of x and 40 of x and that is what I wear every day kind of way, I got close around the ages of 18-19 I adopted a Han Soloesque uniform of almost nothing but black slacks, shoes and vest with white or creme colored long sleave shirts that have the 3 buttons on the front, it still lingers as good luck seeing me in anything but black slacks/cargo pants unless it is hot as balls and I am wearing shorts, just felt like posting this as it has been a meandering thought in my head for the last few weeks
I give you a perfect example of that: Kazuo Umezu http://tokyoscum.blogspot.com/2009/12/kazuo-umezu-vs-tsb-part-4.html [credit Tokyo Scum Brigade]
Albert Einstein, Charles Eames and Gomez Addams are all famous for that very practice. Since my early twenties I've mostly opted for a navy blue t-shirt and dark brown pleat-less pants almost every day.
My entire wardrobe (excluding the "career focused" items I have to wear to work) consists of black t shirts (usually with some band on it), blue jeans, and black hoodies (usually with some band on it). People have told me its weird, but I don't really care
I have, for the last several years, had an inexplicable desire to dress like Colonel Sanders on a daily basis. White linen suit and shirt, black string tie, shoes and hanky. It remains to be seen if I will ever fulfill this bizarre idea but I can't seem to shake it either.
since i was 16 i've worn a black shirt with some band on it, blue jeans, and vans. now at the age of 30 whenever i try something different everyone stares at me. i look out of place in anything else.
I am in the slow, slow process (as I wear my clothes until they are literally falling apart) of turning my wardrobe into mainly (like, shooting for 80% - 85%) purple and brown items.
Brown boots (pretty much any type for any occasion), jeans and some sort of shirt, band tshirt, button shirt, it doesnt matter, im always seen wearing a pair of boots and boot cut jeans. I showed up to a 10k with onitsukas on and one of my coworkers was surprised that they were not new and indeed, quite worn.
I went to school once during my senior year wearing a white button down shirt, white pants with a black belt and black combat boots. I was going for the Big Audio Dynamite look from No. 10 Upping St. Everyone thought I was trying to be the Good Humor Ice Cream Man, but one dude said I looked "Fresh".
I've been going crazy trying to find the episode, or even a still from the episode where Gomez shows off his rack full of stripped suits! I love the Addams Family but I'm not sure if I have it in me to download and watch 30 hours of their antics to satisfy this itch.
I have consistently worn Addidas Sambas every day for quite a while with the exception of a pair of dress shoes occasionally. I think they are classic cool and go with everything(almost). I literally buy a new pair every once in awhile but never throw out my old pairs. I think I own 12-13 pairs now, all of them gently more worn than the next.
black gap shirts x seven days a week. Levis jeans x seven days a week. golden yellow chucks x seven days a week. (several pairs, just in case they discontinue) No logos. I occasionally wear cowboy shirts when a collar is called for, hoodies (black, no logos) when it's cold and a black levis jacket, but... again, consistent.
Since I was about 16 I realized I've always been influenced by British youth culture fashion (punk, skin, two-tone, rocker, mod). Thankfully I skipped the New Romantic stuff. I've been trying to adapt a more minimalist lifestyle, including clothing- which would equate to a virtual uniform. It's just too hard in Ohio with four different distinct seasons, not to mention all the different things I do weekly and need to wear ( artist's smock, polyester work clothes, dress clothes, Adventure Team outfits etc.). I'm a little jealous of you guys that can get by with wearing similar clothes all week.
I used to have one just like that (and I am talking recently ), only it was Bombardier. I am not an NFL fan, but I would make any of these my personal uniform. Just look at that pleated leisure suit.
Band shirt (usually black), Levi's, & New Balances when I don't have to wear my work clothes. On Sunday's Buccaneers stuff during football season.
Dov from DKE Toys has a literal cartoon character wardrobe. Gret t shirt and shorts with oakley sandals when warm Grey shirt, black sweater, jeans and black knockoff chucks when its cold. Ive known the guy almost 5 years and cant even recall him wearing anything else ever.
The first time I saw this I seriously thought it said Adventure Time outfits. Made me wonder if you alternate Finn/Jake or Finn/Fiona
^^^ Ha ha, I read the words correctly when I first saw the post but my brain immediately gave me an image of the Adventure People:
