Can someone ID this for me?

Am I correct in thinking that it is the 1971-74 Goji version? Does it have any other name that I should be searching on?

I have the GID and its always just been the 1974 Reissue to me because that's what it was listed as. I think he's got one of the most charming faces of any Gojira sculpt.

Cheers - that was my feeling too; his face just has tons of character and, as you put it, charm.

The figure is an exclusive to this mook. Inside the book it is advertised as 74 Godzilla.

Well, that colorway is exclusive. yes, but I've most often seen the sculpt referred to as MegaroGoji [メガロゴジ]

1973, 1974, and 1975 Godzilla are all refer to Megaro Goji in Japan.

Is this a genuine piece or a Photoshop of the face on a standard Matango?

The reason I ask is that I cannot find any other reference to it.

Anyone see the New Years pic with Kure Kure without the headband? I'm thinking we might see revamped Kure Kure minis? Maybe the whole sea cucumber gang (anger (Ikari), happiness (Hera Hera), and sadness (Shiku Shiku)? Pretty excited!

I have them all (Thanks Bryce!!!!) but my Biragon is encapsulated in a bag.Maybe we will see Biragon with a hookah. Monroe with the Kure doll? The rare standard size with no headband would be nice as well. I'm all about the Kure Kure.

Think it was released at either superfest or wonder fest in japan around the holiday season, M1 posted it on their instagram at that time. either that or it was gifted to friends and family but its a genuine piece

I’ve become a big Kure Kure fan as well, still lacking
    Ikari from the characters.

The show has this frenetic insanity which I love.

The classic paint job is definitely really interesting, but quite unlike Yuji's typical style. I like this as a homage to the film, and it is kind of interesting as a small run, but not necessarily something I would need to have in my toy family - if only because Yuji himself has so many other excellent toys I am already chasing. It is a question of prioritising and taste; I am not - and could never even afford to consider - being a completionist, even on mushies.

I think the paint sort of works and sort of doesn't (like the belt, also the sleeves) simply because it was not meant for this sculpt of the character. Painting on physical details never really works [for me], and always comes off a bit as someone doing customs on blanks, sort of forcing their own aesthetic on another canvas, if that makes sense (it's difficult to articulate, more of a feeling). There is no question the skill is there with this example, even the belt being airsprayed versus brush addition shows that, but I would just have been more amazed (even a little weak at the knees) to see Yuji take on a new Matango sculpt, transforming stage or even just different take.
