i never cared too much for the proportions on the full-sized eyezon... but this guy looks promising!

Much finer detail, especially on the fingers. Great to see this guy finally in sofubi.

I really like the top half, but the lower portion just seems kinda rushed.

Either way, it has my attention and the previous sculpt never did.

It certainly looks more monstrous, but at the same time, less like a potato. But that's probably a good thing. Looking forward to seeing paints.

Very nice. It's very cool to see Mark's stuff reinterpreted by the newer companies. I was big fan of the Frenzy Capt. Maxx, and look forward to seeing the final version of this sculpt. But the original Maxx, Xam and Eyezon will always have a special place on my shelves... so I guess I like them both.

Dunno if it was "rushed", but I kinda feel the same way. The top half is blowing me away...but I think it's the waist joint/seam that bothers me about the lower bits.

Agreed on both counts--I think the Frenzy Capt Maxx figures were pretty great. Very fun sculpts. But I'm not planning on getting rid of my original guys anytime soon!

Still like my GID Eyezon. I just wish it glowed harder.

Yeah, the relief/bumps on the lower and upper halves of the new one don't match. Maybe that can be fixed pre-release?

I dont think the lower half looks rushed at all. It feels natural, or atleast it does to me.

Also I want to add how much I really enjoy the recent advent of waist joints. To quote an inside joke... "I love the playability!"

I like this too.... wasn't much into the larger eyezons, but have 3 of the mini ones. So this is more appealing ... it will be available thru Maxtoy sometime in May?

The regular eyezon is nice but it does kind of look a bit derby due to its arms. Mini Eyezons are really nice to hold.

Got my shipping notice for the new Fly Trap! Can't wait to see this guy in person. I'm starting to really like the idea of killer plant life now that I'm a little more mature. Did anyone see the photo on Mark's instagram of the final bagged figures? Is it just me or are the colors a little more subdued than the pre-order photos used to sell the figure?

The item shown for the preorder was most likely a paint test. It looks like it was fully-painted, whereas the production item is probably painted on yellow vinyl.

Ah, thank you. Makes perfect sense. Just for clarification, it wasn't a gripe or anything. More of an observation. I'm still very excited for this guy. :D

 HAHA! It's not quite as rediculous as it sounds. As a kid things like the Triffids, Audrey, and Biollante wouldn't have scared me. The idea of monstrous plants was corny to me. But now the thought of something seemingly so harmless as a plant being deadly is much more interesting to me.

Hehe...I gotchu. I always thought the 70's remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland was freaky as shit. Fucking alien watermelons, man. And on the kaiju tip, I always thought Biollante was dope because she was some kinda fucked up amalgamated clone of Godzilla, a rose, and some crazy scientist's daughter!

That last shot, with Sutherland doing the blankfaced snatcher-scream... freaked me right the fuck out the door as a kid!

I watched that remake somewhat recently and will always be haunted by Sutherland's face.

Anybody else get this guy? What do you think? I'm really enjoying him. A welcome addition to my collection. Couple of interesting paint choices I noticed. I've never seen this before but his paint job is matte compared to all my other figs. How common is this? Also, it seems like the vinyl is a bright yellow but there is barely any showing on the fig. Just his knee. Not bad, just struck me as really different.

Really? I thought he was pretty glossy in comparison to the paint sample photos. Although I don't know what you're referencing for your comparison. Dream Rocket tends to use less clear coat (which I believe produces the glossy finish) than other companies on average.

The yellow base vinyl tints a lot of the green as well. It really brightens up the color on the figure; unexpected based on the sample, but a good choice.

Sad I missed Flytrap. That's some wonderful paint on a nifty sculpt.

I need a Rider, or other Super Sentai hero to fight him though.

I went back and looked at my collection and I think on a whole what I am reacting to is the lack of metallic paint. This guy seems to be the only figure I own so far without any metallic sprays. Mystery solved!

I also need to get my hands on a cobra man. Shouldn't have slept on that second colorway. So good.
