Modzilla - Ron English x Toy Art Gallery

Over 30 different parts. 2 years in the making.

 

I'd be way more into this if it didn't have one of his signature characters all over it multiple times, as I'm not particularly fond of Ron's work. Kind of an eyesore, in my opinion. The 'Zilla itself looks pretty bad ass, though.

Im really going to hate whatever opening we have for this. Can't stand any of English's work.

 

... the toy IS a clusterfuck.

Q) can you take-off the:

* guy sitting on the head?
* girl in the arms?
* guys on the back?

OH - AND i asked Gino @ TAG were it was made, and he told me Japan! Said ALL the TAG stuff made in Japan.

... just info for the trainspotters i guess.

 

It is made with over 30 points and is said to have "countless articulation points" so I would assume the answer to all your questions is yes.

I like the monster parts of the figure a lot. Don't care much for the rest but it's cool that this thing is being made and I can see it being loved by some people for sure.

Saw they are articulated, i just wanna know if you can remove 'em without revealing holes/joins etc.

Anyone know?

 

I think it's pretty cool.. although I would hate to paint it! Good luck to whoever is in the TAG custom show for this figure (assuming they have one at some point!).. I wanna see the pile of paint masks that were possibly produced for this thing, could be a record holder!!

 

This is terrible beyond words, on so many levels.

English's work has always struck me as sophomoric at best. His venture into "designer toys" never translated well in my opinion. This "designer toy" is just bad. I can think of two years better spent. That being said, I'm sure there will be a lot of these showing up in people's collections.

too much nonsense going on all over the place. the monster has no space to breathe will all the stupid little figures added on.

 

Wow, not many RE fans here I don't think its that bad really. I kinda like it too so maybe I just don't have good taste or something. I think a good freehand paint ap might put it in a different light.

 

I always liked his MC Supersized.
This just seems a tad lazy to me . . .

I'd rather buy this than that confused mess!

It seems that everyone and their mothers is finally producing in sofubi. It's gonna be a long next 5yrs until these idiots see their errors.

 

Things really started to go down hill when those Grim North/Scary Andy designs came out

 

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!!

 

If you like the Dino part and dig minifigures, you can always grab some Predasaurs, which have an appearance almost identically similar to this guy. Granted, there's a HUGE size difference, but they're still Super cool & Super cheap.

I like Ron's art, but it DOES NOT translate to toys. Someone please stop him!

30 different parts? Is every single little head articulated?

I feel bad for the people cutting the flash...unless it is Ron English himself
