I've been wondering recently since seeing the keshi, why hasn't there been a VAG set for Kumon? Seems like a no brainer to me. I'd love to see a set with some early classic colorways, maybe a mock marbled one ... Have Medicom dropped a bollock, or do you think Dennis wouldn't be into that kind of release?
I thought about that too but I figured since he pulls his own mini Kumons in great quality and pretty much any marble/color he wants he wouldn’t have bother with the VAG if he wants a small version. I don’t own any VAG figures so I can’t say anything regarding their quality but I have quite a few mini Kumon and everything from the marble and feel is superb so I guess stick with what works?
I agree with this, Dennis has his own factory and pulls amazing vinyl so I would think there is no need for him to partner with Medicom?
I just see the VAG line as more of a celebration of current sofubi makers, kinda like a hats-off mark of respect. Not like they 'need' it particularly. I just think Kumon is a glaring omission from a fun ongoing project, that includes a lot of great artists. Surely there's room for a gatcha set? Although i take your point about keeping the mini and keshi exclusive ... but the VAG I own are good quality overall so I just think its a shame, really.
Maybe it has to do with licensing and all that stuff. the VAG vinyl isnt anything superb, but its nice and the masks and paints usually turn out well enough. Think regular finger puppet quality.
How long has it been since Dennis did a lucky bag? Kumons are great, but MYSTERY KUMONS are even better
@dokuroking Totally agree, I need to track down one with orange arm or at least the uncut part that came with the Mixed part Kumon.
I thought it closed on the 14th. Email was sent on the 12th. I missed it, but that's ok. Kumon shelf is full and I'm only making exceptions for the really crazy stuff, which comes up less and less now. That said, it was very gracious of Dennis to run a preorder. I'm sure it'll be a ton of work, and hope it gives more collectors their first Kumon.
@BrainDeadBrum - No, not yet. @zindabad - Order closed on the 15th. But it also states "Customers that place an order will be sent a Paypal invoice within 7 days." So either emails went out or Dennis is late with sending out invoices.
He also stated it was a limited amount for the pre-order. Was just curious to see if anyone else who entered had gotten the invoice yet.
