Did anyone win the lottery for the King Korpse?
man! the hand painted Swamp Rot King Korpse showed up on mandarake and was sold in a blink of an eye.
The new King Korpse is taking the world by storm.

Love this paint design, just wish it was widely available
Definitely love the paint job. The price is a bit high for a one-off but the 2nd hand price is just crazy
I'd love the "realistic" King Korpse paint scheme, but $450 plus $50 shipping was out of my price range
Yeah, a gorilla. Good to see McFarlane is still making toys.
Just glad to have a rotten rex on the way for 250! Thanks lulubell for always bringing the heat!
Instinctoy color version a total of 80 pieces were made and 30 of them were already sold at various toy conventions such as DCON
I am not a fan of the mix color king korpse, looks too much like a kids toy to me, but if I can get one, I will try to paint it, or have it painted by my friend.
Why were these same mixed parts $400 at past conventions, but now 28,000 yen? A lot of that initial price really turned me off on these.
Maybe ppl were upset with the price of the blanks costing more than most painted runs so they changed the price around? Thats rather shitty that they were so expensive before hand though.
the price drop is very strange, but can't really complain if it's a drop. I am just happy that I get a chance again.
Are these even mixed parts? I've seen a few pictures of this version online and the inner joint on the extra hand is a much lighter color than the hand itself. Which makes me think these are just painted to look like mixed parts. You can kind of see it in the picture above too.
That is interecting. They don't mention it being painted, just mixed parts. My next complaint is why a painted version costs $200 more than an unpainted. Dcon unpainted glow were $300, painted were $500. I understand the work and detail of the paint app, but is it really $200?
I'm only saying all this because I loved this toy, really wanted 1, until I saw the price.
@BAPE - Posting info about live or upcoming lotteries is rather frowned upon here - please consider editing your post and, of course, refrain from sharing similar information in the future. Thanks.
Sounds like you are right about the painting. From the link above:
"As these figures are coated by hand, there may be variations in each figure. We seek your kind understanding in this."
It has been a while since I posted here. I was looking around the forum and saw this thread and thought I would share. I was lucky enough to win the first King Korpse lottery. King Korpse came packed in a gunny sack with a metal King Korpse head and leather tag with edition number on the drawstring. The Liquid heart is a nod to Instinctoy who helped make the figure. King Korpse comes with an alternate left hand, removable right clavicle, removable rib cage, and removable heart. The shackles are also removable if you take him apart. The doll eye can be posed by removing the head and using a pin inside to adjust it. King Korpse features 10 points of articulation.
The rest of the images are in a spoiler tag.
Ah I see. It is still a really neat version but when I go for blanks/mixed colors it's because I want a figure that can't be damaged when I play with it or take it apart a few times.
@toothaction thank you so much. still a lot to learn.
@fett42 you are so lucky!
Me personally, I have never really been a kaiju collector. so I haven't been a skullbrainer for a long time but after going to DCON for the first time I was blown away by all the new cool stuff that happened in the last five years.
I grew up in the 80s loving motu, gijoe, and later on maba zombies, barnyard commando ish toys. For me it is a shock to learn that the man who did king korpse worked on barnyard commandos. no wonder I love king korpse so much. Yes. king korpse does look like cygor from mcfarlane. maybe king korpse was inspired by cygor. Yes the price for king korpse is very high... but I am pretty sure the more they have to cut up the body the more molds they have to make which equals more money for production. I am pretty sure James is not trying to rip us off. If you read the interview when they were making king korpse they make it very clear that instead of trying to aim for the most price efficient product, they were actually trying to create the absolute perfect kong vs zilla ish toy with size and action poses in mind.
everyone has the things that they love. the current demand prices that flippers are asking for is ridiculous but I am hoping as more king korpses are released, the flipper craze will die down and everybody that wants them will able to get one.(including me).
This is the toy that brought me back into vinyl collecting. I really hope everybody can realize how cool this gorilla is.
Considering this is not a massed produced action figure run and aimed at ppl with higher wallet spending the price reductions will never happen with flippers. As an action figure person you should know this. Limited figures of any type that have high articulation, appeal and detail rarely ever go down in price unless someone is desperate to just get rid of things to make room or just need the cash.
@fett42 Now you need your Rotten Rexx facing off against King Korpse
fett42, what an awesome name
Wow the painted version looks amazing.
The heart looks a bit out of character although it is understandable since it is a collab with INSTINCTOY
the mixed part is painted to be mixed part.
Separate names with a comma.
