Here he be, Steve: He's a charming cheapie, a commonly-available oldster from, I believe, Popy? I have to confess ignorance on the manufacturer, and his marks help me none. Countdown to someone chiming in with info...
Yep, you nailed it. I don't know, must be some SB mental linkage, but that is just the fella I was expecting to see. He is indeed by Popy, from the King Zaurus line. I think he is my favourite version of the character from any sculpt actually, so superbly happy you manage to bring one home. I love the roughness, big emphasised spikes on his arms and head, the asymmetrical way they did his antennae/ears, and of course the brilliant colours and blue highlights. Might not be the most 'screen accurate' by I adore this interpretation. So menacing, but fun - which is exactly how I see Gyango. They aren't that common actually, not that they are rare, but just remain one of the popular figures from the series (and I can see why), so no so often for sale. Great catch!
Check it out - on October 16th, 1966, THIS little party happened: Smack dab inbetween pHteve and GaraMike's eventual B-days. Coincidence? I think not!
