'Wow' is all I can say. Koji Harmon is no joke. My first custom and I love it. Koji you do brilliant work:
Beautiful piece, for sure. But, Lixx, where the crap's the glow shot, damnit!? We wanna see this thing in all its glory!
I'll try an get a GID shot tonight. I've got a crappy old canon powershot that doesn't take really nice GID pics. chris
got back from holiday to work today to find a v. nice surprise of scoring the green & red manda! yaaah
I realized I dropped the ball a bit on getting these pics out. Meant to shoot these Friday night. Better late than never, right? I give you Marusan's Barugon and crawling Showa Gamera: And now, a group shot with my Marusan standing Heisei Gamera, M1 Showa Gamera, and Marmit crawling Barugon: Enjoy the purple!
Sanjeev, amazing pics as usual. Those purple Barugon (Koji and crawling) are pretty sweet. Love the colors on the Crawling one. Is that a custom? By whom? We need a shot of your entire glow collection! Chris
As always, thanks for the comments guys (incidentally, my photography's not nearly where I'd like it to be--though that may be a limitation of my camera, not necessarily my technique--so if you guys have any tips on photography, by all means, spill it!). The crawly Barugon's actually not a custom at all! It's pretty damn rare, but it's just a stock Marmit (Vinyl Paradise maybe? I forget...). It's pretty great, though. I wonder if Koji has one, or has at least seen one. Two purple Barugon glowies seems pretty amazing! But anyway, you really need to see these guys in person. I'm not a stranger to customs, and while I've seen more complex color schemes before, these show an amazing level of airbrush control. The complex interplay of the colors makes the toys almost seem *delicate*. My lit shots simply don't do them justice. The way the green blends into the blue on Gamera's shell is insane! And the subtle blue on his belly is utterly flawless. What I found interesting is the finish. The paints don't seem like regular V-color because they have sort of a matte texture. It's not grainy or anything...just not slick like the V-color I'm used to. It's not bad at all, of course--just different.
According to Club Tokyo the crawling Barugon is an old WCC exclusive, sold together with a similar Gamera with a rainbow-sprayed shell. Dunno if it's Bini-para, but one of Marmit's lines, anyhow.
Ah! Very cool, akum6n!! On point with the 411...hehe...I didn't even think to look him up on CT! Hmm...well, I bought it singly--no glowie Gamera to go with him. Now, I'm trying to remember if it at least came with a bag and header...
I just got my Chitanosaurus on Friday. the subtlety of this man's airbrushing is so sweet. I don't know how he managed to paint only the tiny little pink dots on his back without using a paintbrush. and man it glows bright
