Uh. Wow. That is....huh. Strange? Liking the Marmit-Matango-y hands. Guess I'm not jumping outta my seat about the color. I'd be interested to get a better look (duh, at the whole thing) at the hip-embellishments, etc. All in all, a new sculpt is a good thing, right?
First reactions: Lumpy Sculpt = Cool Seemingly Full Sized = Cool 3 eyes!? = Cool IKB style disc eyes = COOL Skulls - hhmm, I dunno? I love skulls, but not sure they fit yet. I need better/higher res pics. Overall seems like my style, but again that's my first impression. Doesnt' excite me as much as the mini tetran & berarugon figures WITH GUTS!
Kinda like it, it will go well with the hedos. Is this an original sculpt? Or is it based off an older toy?
I definitely see the Marmit/Matango-y thing going on with the arms and all. I don't mind the blue colour with frost highlights almost seems like an ice monster or a water spirit. I think the third eye kinda throws me along with the overall sculpt echoing other sculpts. But it is new (I was complaining about stale stuff in another thread). And yeah the clear mini tetran & berarugon figures with guts look very nice!
First reaction I thought that it was cool. I kept staring and it and I can't wait for it to come out in this color. Can't wait. For me I love the feet and hands and everything else just falls in to place.
To me it's very reminisce of Gargamel Hedoran in it's sculpt and 3 disk eyes. I like what I see and feels like a further evolved Hedoran or a branch off from the series.
Vombie- good eye. It sounds like this release has something to do with Toshikazu Nozaka, an artist/skater in Japan. Don't know if it is a collab or not. Here's his website: http://www.asianwaveskates.com/news.html If you look at his artwork, his most recent Mystic Wave series uses the three-eyed wave motif. Will be interesting to see side and rear shots.
Thanks. If this does turn out to be a collab of some sort, I think this would just rule. Gargamel seems to do U.S. artist collabs. I always thought it would be nice if they did a few with Japanese artist as well. But collab or not, the new fig looks cool.
Vombie, your observation has opened me up to this guy A LOT! A wave beast? Much more interesting now that I can see it. Can't wait for some better pics.
I will definitely agree with the wave/water motif. I dont really see snow or ice. Personally I like it because of the detail of the sculpt and dynamic pose. Does anyone know if the name means anything?
Yes, this is a collab with Asian Wave Skates and part of the Gargamel middle size series. He's a big wave, so that should explain the coloring. You need to see him from the side as he looks more round and wave-like.
