The thing about the Circus Punks collabs is that they seem unlikely. Most J-vinyl collectors aren't into western conceptual plush or whatever CPs are, and a lot of western "art toy" collectors have a distaste for kaiju, especially "blobby" kaiju. After the last Gargamel/CP collab, a lot of people sold off one or the other toy. Evidently it was worthwhile for both parties to do it again though.
I know that it's been mentioned at least by one boardmember that the zandora looks like it has the same paint application of the devastor from transformers. Anyway I just went to the gargamel site and the font and the logo for it sure make it look like it is a tribute or is it just me? Pic borrowed respectfully from gargamel.
Sorry still new to all this are these only being released on gargamels site or will we be able to get these from Super 7 or KT?
The zag reminds me a little of that semi-mythical Buzz Cola zag that was released in ultra limited quantities a few years back. Maybe not that close, but in my mind it will fill the gap nicely.
is that zandora fight sized? i basically only collect gargamel fight figs now, but if this will fit my shelving set-up, i can stretch my boundaries. it looks amazing!
To each their own, but I'm glad in this instance (lack of $$$) to concur . . . although the Zag is one of the nicest in a while. Fingers crossed more Vinyl Fight might pop up some ways down the line.
well, that's about and inch bigger than fights, but something about this figure makes me feel like it would fit the whole fight scheme. Like Andre the Giant amongst a bunch of cruiserweights.....and i'm talking about the OG Andre, not that dude with the word "the" tattooed on his shin....
I feel like this was mentioned before, but couldn't find the post. Zandora is actually a Zone Fighter kaiju, the original of which was made by Orange (and is very, very hard to find). Because the original was a larger standard size figure, it's not a straight copy. This one is a collab between Charactics and Gargamel (I am guessing that Gargamel chose the paints), but the original was by Charactics only. 6" puts it in the mid-size range, so it matches 'scale' with the Biollantes and some of the Hedorahs done by Charactics.
Awesome info on Zandora...thanks akum6n! I'm feeling the sculpt. A lot. Now, to wait for a glow or clear glow of it...
waiting for new stuff when the first hasn't been released yet? sheesh. but, yeah, this sculpt has a lot of potential...
I'm surprised no one has said anything about the photo of the Smoguns up on S7's blog. It's nice to finally get the second half of the S7 Smogun set from Josh's art... and in clear yellow no less!
