I really like all of your custom work Dustin! I love your attention to detail. And this guy, the killer, is definitely my favorite!:

And this sculpt is amazing as well! Love the detail, good texture, great look, just an awesome sculpt all around! Are you going to make a mold and cast resin sculpts from this guy? I really hope you do, I'd love to get one! :D You are definitely talented! Keep up the great work!
Can't wait to see this guy finished :)

    ^^^Thanks, everybody!

That's the idea. I plan to sculpt several dinos, figure out how it's done, and go from there.

I think I'm gonna try to make a mold but I have no idea how it will turn out. Never done it before.

Here's a pic of this guy now that I put some feet on him:

^^^ Ooooooh! The Dino is getting better and better with every post/poc/step! I'm realli diggin' that dino! I sure do hope that the mold/resin works out for you. Maybe you should do a practice run before hand, just to make sure this one won't get messed up in the process? I'm not sure how to make molds either... I'm sure you'll get the hang of it though. :)

This guy looks fantastic Dustin! I love the all the details and the face. I really like the proportions too. Good luck with the mold. I'd love to see this guy in resin... and available for purchase!

fantastic work dustin. you got some amazing skills especially since this is your first try and it doesn't seem like it at all. I can't wait to see what you can do in the future.

I would also agree with the practice mold run, just so you know what to do and this sculpt doesn't get affected. but hell, if you can sculpt this for your first time i'm sure your resin pours will be alright as well. :) Your call.

^^^Thanks a lot you guys, glad your not getting sick of all the WIP pics. ;)

I think I'm about ready to call this guy,"done," and move onto the next one. I'll look into casting and ask around here for tips on how it's done. It's entirely new territory for me and, when sculpting this guy, I wasn't conscious of molding/casting so I honestly don't even know if it's possible with this sculpt.

Anyways, here are some more pics:

I don't know...I'd like to do some kind of ceratopsian dinosaur eventually.

    Hiya Dustin :)

I was looking through the Resonators forum and came across a topic that is very imformative about making molds and casting resin figures. So if you're seriously thinking about it, here's a good research starting point:

As always, keep up the excellent work ;)

    Next dino: a Styracosaur.

Still got a long way to go on this one but I thought I'd share what I've got so far. Trying to experiment with different textures, we'll see what happens...

Moving right along on this dude. Trying to get the body to look right relative to the head is a bit trickier on this one than on the ankylosaur. Still super-rough but I think the proportions are starting to come together for me.

These came out killer! The sculpts are killer, the casts look good, and I can't wait to see how you paint them. You might not realize it, but you also picked a smart sculpt to learn casting on, because you'll never be able to tell if there's a little air bubbling on the back ;)
