This is our guy. We found Brooks at Princeton small dog rescue, and his approximate age is 9, but we aren't really sure. He's shaved for summer to survive the heat and looks like a fox. This thread is awesome. Good to know so many people are giving doggies loving homes.
He looks like Firefox! XD I'm not going to sugar coat the loss. It hurt like hell losing my dog. I still cry when I think about her. But I wont be without the companionship of having a dog. Even though I will go through the loss and be devastated again. Not having a dog is just too lonely a life. I got to play with two awesome pugs over the weekend. I think the fact that I didn't burst into tears when I smelled dog and held them means I am recovering slowly but surely.
Nate, you may end up reducing me to tears. Brooks is 12 pounds of complete bananas. We are sure he was abused (he is VERY nervous around teenage boys and men he doesn't know, to the point of being scary for 12 lbs of chicken). He's smart and totally crazy and thinks he runs the house. He actually tries to "herd" me by nipping at my calves every once in a while. And he is totally protective of the kids, but I'm sure could do without them now and again. Especially when my son sticks his fingers in his nose. Oy. I adore him. My hubby adores him. My kids adore him. I can't imagine life without him. Espeically when he lays next to me for his nightly ear scratch.
Ive had Coco Puffs since she was born nearly 5 months ago as she was from the litter of my future father in law's dogs. She is a whole lot of awesome. Puffs at about a month old.. She f'n loves when I leave dirty clothes on the floor instead of in the hamper.. Here she is with the future Mrs.G money..
Yup. They are pretty huge. And they are a total tell for Coco's mood like most animals. Up and forward for happy. And they get all droopy when she is tired or sad.
Vinyl toys make me smile, but looking at everyone's dogs makes me smile more than any other thread. I love it! To those who've lost, one can only try and bring to other people the same love and patience your old friend gave you. But, we can try!
Here's my boy had him since he was 3 weeks old bringing him and my daughter up together has been fun fun fun they're both 6yrs old now lol, I love bothering him...
sure does, one minute your 18 trying to decide what college to hit then your a full blown adult damn.....I miss high school football hey atleast i'll always have toys
Here's my dude, he's 9 months old and getting bigger still...a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Excellent hound, great family dog. Barks and growls when he's supposed to. ...that Mothman marking on his chest mysteriously appeared out of nowhere....
I'm so glad I found this thread. Some posts bring a tear to my eye, others a big smile. Today the Mothman on the chest of the gorgeous Ridgeback was just great to see!
I see squashed faces run in your family. They do in mine too. Here's my little girl, Clover. All Smiles. Little teeth.
I've been drowning in dogs lately. My wife has majorly undertaken dog rescue. Miami is one of the nation's highest rate kill-shelters. They are so over-run with pets, and any excuse to move a dog to the C ward for kill is taken. If someone puts a hold on a dog but changes their mind, that dog is slated to be put down within the week. If a dog is shy or in the least bit aggressive (could be that its scared and trying to protect itself), it goes down. Imagine, killing a dog cause its scared and huddles in a corner. Friggin ridiculous. Anyway, she has been working with some local no-kill shelters and rescue groups, and even started her own rescue group with a friend, collecting donations so she can pay the pull fees and vet bills, if necessary, to save these dogs. She's saved a ton over the summer already. We currently have 10 dogs in my house! Its quite a task caring for all of these (many with special needs). I've got to get some pics up tonight.
Cube: Your girl is so cute! How old is she? I love her little white eyebrows. King: That is awesome your wife is doing the rescue. I bet it's a lot of work but I'm sure it's well worth it. My Boston is a rescue(best $100 I've ever spent) and my Pug I got thru a friends girlfriend who's grandmother passed and they didn't know what to do with her. Looking forward to seeing pics.
I love dogs! Yes, please post more! This is my buddy Jimi. He's a rescue and is awesome! I was told that he's a Corgi/Terrier. While there's definitely Corgi, I think there's some lab and dachshund in there too. He's a mutt. Jimi is extremely chill unless he sees a squirrel.
Thanks Aldo! She's 9 years old, but still acts like young pup. She's the best part of my day and has such a cheerful personality. I'm hoping she has many years left by my side. Your pups are also super cute! Your Boston looks a LOT like mine did at that age... with the exception that they are wearing their long-socks on the opposite front paws. I'm a big sucker for black pugs too @Kingboy - Big props to you and your girl. I wish there were more people in this world with your mindstate and drive to help.
