Yes, it was a real memory! Here's someone on flickr who has the white one.
I think its quite rare because i've seen the black one pop-up on ebay loads of times but i've never seen the white one for sale anywhere . . .

i love that raccoon! the yellow one looks kind of familiar but i can't place it. maybe it just reminds me of something else.

 

Looks like a weird 'Moomins' bootleg to me . . . . . the top one is definitely a Tanuki . . . . they are often portraid with that kind of mask and orange fur.

 

Don't know what the tanuki is but this is a character from the NHK puppet show Goo Choco Lantan. Apparently his name is "Spoo".

I found the Banana mouse this weekend
I still know nothing about these . . . any info pertaining to the maker or age (I'm guessing 60's) would be appreciated.

i have seen those mouse banks in a Traveler's Trading Company catalog from 1978. no idea when they were originally offered though.

 

Man, i got one of those myself a few weeks ago! (The Banana Mouse)

Mine is basically the same, but it has some text on it too.

AND the plug hole at the bottom was stamped "Made in Hong Kong".

...man, it says:

"I'm tired of eating!" in a real cool carnie-esque font on the side o the banana underneath the mouse.

Then just "Made in Hong Kong" is moulded into the plastic on the orange stopper on the bottom.

So the EXACT same mould. But very different paint apps to what 'The Moog' has.

You might want to consider how many times Snoopy's had his ass blown and by who in 30 years before wrapping yours around it!

 

Haha, to be fair its his dog-dish you blow into . . . . but i suppose thats just as bad.
i'm not mental . . . . i did at least give it a cursory wipe with a soggy tea-towel before testing the whistle.
