Has anyone seen any Zurai Asu figures from the Z bags or others? I saw two on ebay for X bags but not much more.

Several photos of Zyurai's are shown a few pages back in this thread. But none from Z bags.

Well, it seems the whole show has been blown out of the water, eh? What can I say - enjoy the ride, because I don't think we're even close to the end! 8)

A little bird told me there were "slightly different" versions in some of the bags...

Cronic = the master of the Lucky Bag!

This is exactly what Lucky Bags should be all about...total surprise and random chaos that send the completist into a crashing spiral...

also, apart from vanquishing the compleatist...you feel like each piece is special...instead of making a ton of bags with on or two variables, Naoki has used each of the sculpts he has done so far and done a huge array of colors and paint schemes...basically making each bag different...

so amazing, and so excited to see what's in ABC...esp. since I was actually able to land the last C bag thanks to someone who didn't pay their invoice!

Basically Naoki has released the equivalent of a few year's work from some companies in one fell swoop.

Yeah I really see this as Naoki going back to his roots with these LBs. As a fellow creative type, what impresses me is the ability to keep that creative output going, at such a level, across so many figures! Naoki must have painted hundreds of figures in January.

Anyway, like I said a month ago, the LBs probably wouldn't be here quite when some folks expected, but they would be worth the wait!

BTW, if it turns out that a bunch of the Mavs and other figures are randomly painted, then that takes completists off the hook, since they weren't "regular" releases.

Game back on, Home Puff n' Stuff!

perhaps, Andy...but some of these are actually labelled as standard, right...as in standard release?

I don't know...if they're labelled as standard, secret 1 and secret 2...I'd count them as releases...

just have to face facts that I won't be able to complete the Nougaki collection I have...and I'm glad because while I love the two green ones I have coming, I don't think I could deal with 5 (minimum) bright green base nougakis...though they're all painted really well...I just don't like that base color that much...

like I said before, I feel free now to just enjoy what I can get my hands on...and love it without needing every other one...and I'm really just enjoying seeing what's out there...its like looking at an art catalog, I know I'll never own a Francis Bacon...but I have a ton of books on his paintings...

    right click, save...right click, save.

I don't think that just because something is in one of the bags with a "secret type" card that must make it a "standard release"

Here's the deal - from the looks of things, Naoki has made a series of variant Mavs in the Z bags (with slight variations, mind you). So, for me (and for Kaiju Korner, and every article that I write) these will never be "standard production releases". Based on what I've seen so far, I will call it a run of variants.

Now, when the smoke clears and we see more figures pop up, that assessment might change. I think we're going to need a few more weeks before the picture becomes totally clear.

Naoki has actually done something like this before (but not with LBs) - waaaaaaay back in the day, which is why I say he's returning to his roots.

perhaps it can be looked at on a base color basis...

all the light blue vinyl mavs. seen as one release...or all the green nougakis as one release...

there's no denying they're out there, so it would be odd if they weren't on the lists...and aren't some Cronic releases sometimes under 5 pieces?

I think if there's 2 or more of a given color scheme...it's a release...at least that's my way of defining it...it Naoki laid out a color plan, and repeated it...then it's a colorway to try to find of a given sculpt...I have seen the Mavs with variations like you said...but it does appear that the light blue with purple eyeball arms is a repeated paint scheme...gotta add that to the KK Mav list, no?

I think this is an amazing thing to be talking about mind you...imagine there being too many pieces out there to even compile a list! I think it's great...although now we have to wait a lot longer for you to finish your nougaki checklist, don't we?

Nougaki checklists and tons of other stuff won't be done for a ways down the line - too much going on now.

I wouldn't use the base color as a means of calling a wave of figures a "release with variants" since Naoki tends to make a bunch of a certain base and then use the batch for a variety of releases at different shows and for different exclusives/other releases. So personally that's not a standard I'd use. Plus I think the 5 Green Nougs are all distinct, and, like you said, made in runs larger than just one or two pieces, so those are all separate releases, in my book, and definitely good for a checklist.

I've never included variant runs in my lists. If Naoki winds up making 15 different Z bag secret Mavs, and there's just one of each, then that doesn't go onto a checklist.

If something is made in a run of 3, 4, or 5, then sure that's totally fine for a list.

Anyway, yeah it's going to take a while to sort this out, but we're getting there!

Score! The C bag does have 2 fight figures!

Some of the paints seem similar to what emerged from the XYZ bags, but there are a lot of new things in there as well.

Here is my favorite from my what I got
    1. Zyurai Asu
    2. Maverasu
    3. Dorome (C bag) Secret Type

The paint job on these 3 are amazing. I am slowing releasing them out of the bag. Trying to prolong my joy. :)

Oh, there was also a framed print in each of the bag. Both of the prints were the same.

Congrats! I can't wait to get my bag now. Can we get a better pic of the C Dorome and Mav by any chance?

Also, anyone who's looking to unload any of their Doromes talk to me. I got you.

Yeah that C does deliver bang for its buck!

Some interesting variants (the Mav parade goes on!) including, from what I can tell, a different colored eyeball on that spotted brown Dorome (different from the Japan release).

Can you please post larger pics?

I just noticed something. The "standard" Mav in that Max Toy C bag looks quite similar (maybe even identical) to a "secret" Mav from a Japan Z bag. Hah hah!

The answer to the question is, no I'm not going to try to sort out this madness myself! ^_^
