missy and I are in the process of planning a return trip to CA. the dates are tentatively Nov. 14-21 as of right now. we'll be spending a few days in SF first, hanging out, then heading down to LA, and hanging out, and most likely going to Disneyland. here are some questions I have: 1. is there anything awesome going on in that timeframe that we should know about so we don't miss out on any cool events? 2. does anyone know an affordable place to stay in the LA area that is not a shithole? we're trying to stay somewhere nice yet inexpensive as possible so we can maximize the fun and toy buying and all that good stuff. in fact, if anyone wanted to offer up a little west coast hospitality and let us crash for a night or two that would be AWESOME and would naturally be reciprocated if you're ever in Philly but yeah right why would you be. recommendations on cheap but as non-seedy crack whore motels are also acceptable. 3. anyone who might want to hang out should contact us! we'll try to work out some plans or contact info. let me know if I need to make an official sign up sheet.
GHOUL is playing gilman st on the 25th. and the one person i want to visit up in berkeley will be back in LA.
This post just reminded me that u mailed me about this. Sorry for no reply. Too busy getting deep. Hope u will come over and visit me and Skruffy and Milhouse. I also have houseguests (and my house is small) but looking forward to seeing u guys again.
I have been thinking the same thing. Originally I was going to suggest we all went to that Fiend Fest show (Misfits, Osaka Popstar etc...) on Oct 22nd, but I am double booked - I have tix for Placebo (YAY). I also have a hankering to see the Damned in Novemeber, but obviously too late ofr Skylar. Let's talk.
a tasty fast food burger place with vegan/veggie burgers and stuff for the carnivores. and they are open late
dear east coasters, being a former east coaster i was sucked into the whole del taco thing. i think it was cause del taco had fries, and taco bell at the time had no potatoe option. but then i quickly realized one thing.... DEL TACO SUCKS end of story
well, skylar and i walked in a somewhat harold & kumar-esque epic trek to one in San Diego during Comic Con with bags of shit weighing us down, and our tired and hungry bodies. It tasted pretty good then, but some of that may have been novelty. I think its just "Different". Maybe i'll try one when i'm not starved & beaten down, and see if its gross then. haha
I should work on a flyer/map of the area around the comic con for people next year so you can eat some decent food.
you'll be hard pressed to find any del taco in the bay area.. i did bump into one in downtown san francisco once, but I think that was the only one in like an 80 mile radius (i could be wrong) a new huge ass upscale shopping center just opened up today in downtown sf (bloomingdales). while you're there, you should get some dessert at beard papa http://www.beardpapasf.com/ here's a pic of the line into the shopping center today:
