I totally had this booska racer GRAIL in the bag, just to wake up to find that shitty Celga forgot to place a bid. I put in the bid request 5 days prior. Awesome. I put my money up, tying it up with you in good faith, and you let me down. Hard. last time it was forgetting to tell me when my stuff arrived for like a MONTH. and I almost forgot about a few times before when I had to remind you guys to bid just hours before the auction close. Last time you sent my booska to my old address after 3 shipping request--long after I had updated my info.

That's it. What the hell happened to you guys?! You used to be tops.

    so bummed about missing this!!!

Sorry to hear you missed that Booska Racer, it was a nice one too :x . Same thing happened to me with Tokyo Buyers--missed out on the vintage Nakajima magnet-headed dinos (both the red and green version). So upsetting! :x The rainbow to my major angst was running down to the S7 Store, and adopting a whole herd of Buta dinos  , which I've never regretted! I do regret not nabbing the GID Lime Buta Baltan, on my way out of the store :x :x :x . I hear that if you have a Celga Gold account, that you can place your own bids, but you might want to check on that. Good luck on the next round...

Yeah, they recommended going that route. Sorry for the misses! I'm considering it. Not big on using credit cards. I'd rather pay outright; but it would be so tempting to splurge.

Would be really lousy if the forgotten bid was some tactic to push Celga Gold membership :|
Probably an honest mistake, but a bummer nonetheless.

Really sorry to hear that and can only imagine your frustration. I hope you get another shot at your grail sooner than later...

With proxy services the only way to go is doing your own bidding.

I've found that e-mailed bid requests are helpful in curbing impulse bids.

celga had been absolutely fine for me with yja bidding... up until now.

Email saying "bid accepted" etc, paid the deposit... and today I check to see the item went for well below my max (and not with celga winning).

    very, very odd.

Celga is having some technical issues. Once you place a bid, make sure to email them and confirm. I had an issue too, but emailing them ensured my bids were placed.

apparently celga's bid was cancelled by the seller. Did not know sellers had this option. Weird

Maybe its because the ID is becoming recognized as a service that ships overseas? Does Celga use the same ID for most of their bids?

I think both Celga and Rinkya use IDs with their company name as part of the ID.

I've heard that some sellers are not accepting deputy service bids/purchases, and I'm wondering if it will become a more prevalent trend. Ok, another stupid question... why? Why do these sellers care if their items are purchased through a deputy service, and why the objection to their toys/items leaving Japan? Is it because they want to retain the "art toys" (for want of a better word--sorry about that!) in their country or other reason(s)?

It may have more to do with not wanting wanting to deal with the deputy services themselves, rather than sellers caring about items heading overseas. I have a few friends that sell comics and non-sports cards on ebay and some of the deputy services can be hassle. Complaints range from some services taking a long time to pay (presumably waiting for the buyer to pay them), trying to return items because their buyer no longer wants them, delayed and non-specific generic response to important questions, etc.

I have had two gold accounts with Celga but they screwed both up. I now share a joint silver account with a bunch of other people who cant get their gold accounts to work.

Sounds plausible! Thanks for the explanation! :)

Yes, that is what I mostly heard through the years. Its about a nationalistic pride in their items and not wanting them sent overseas.

^^^I suppose I could understand that, especially when Japanese-made items are scarce, the locals would want to retain them. But on the other hand, to have them travel around the world to be appreciated by non-natives, would help to promote an appreciation of the culture and the things produced in Japan. Wouldn't that be a good thing too? Toys are wonderful ambassadors! :)
