the hunt is half of the fun,,,,publicly posting every find ruins it for some people & makes others lazy...all around,,no good!! keeping in mind,,that it is full time work if you want to stay on top of things...but it is no problem for me,,i am obsessed like that
Totally agree with this one. I know I've posted stuff asking for info on items but that's after doing a couple of days of looking both here on the boards and on the interweb. A little bit of elbow grease goes a long way and if you can't even take the time to do any kind of research...and it is rather obvious if you have or haven't...then why should I take the time to help out. As far as posting auction links and images, I thought it had been mentioned in the past that we are NOT suppose to be listing auctions that are still on-going. Only dead auctions are allowed. Somewhere down the line this rule has been lost. I thought it was in the FAQS but I didn't see it...then again I wasn't wearing my glasses so it might be there and I just missed it.
people reading FAQ's would help as well. good points gb. i really don't mind helping people, but i get so annoyed when someone posts a picture of something in their collection and i immediately see a post asking for information on it. look around and have fun. why bother having a hobby if you don't have the patience to learn the background of the figure?
keep our word? some good points have been made already in the above posts, i thought i'd throw this into the ring as well. i think that if you pm somebody regarding an item for sale, say that you will pay later in the day, and then don't, and don't even have the courtesy of communicating with the seller then.....you should be tarred, feathered, tattooed, and ridden out of town on a rail. just my 2 cents.....
pay for items requested? my pet peeve is when someone who doesn't have a Celga account asks you to buy something for them and then when it arrives weeks later says he's not interested anymore. admittedly, it's only happened once to me, but I still get mad thinking about it.
Hey Kirkland, can you bid on something for me on YJA... I'll paint you a blue, purple and pink Cronic toy in exchange.......gatchabert
i ended up trading or selling the items. not terribly expensive, but you know... his excuse was that he didn't really know what he was thinking cause it has been so long since we pm'd about it, but that he might have forgotten and went ahead and acquired them somewhere else. He did offer at this point to pay for them, but I was too pissed to take his money.
i still say fuck off. it take some big balls to ask someone a favor and not come through. that is the move of a scumsucking leech. we are all adults here use you fuckin' brain and don't make a commitment you can't follow through on. todays society and eveyone's lazie-fair attitudes really suck...what happened to courtesy and honor!? people can't even make you a coffee these days without it being "your fault" if it's not what you ordered. i'm in a shitty mood...
it took a trip to costa rica for me to start appreciating coffee. i never touched the stuff before that
You have no idea how happy I was once they started selling the coffee. We don't have a DD in Prescott so the only time I get it is on tour. I have a bag in our house and have been drinking a big mug full every day.
There are several repeat offenders of this practice, and the excuse for posting the link is typically in the thread title, like "What is this?" or my favorite "Why is this so expensive?". If it keeps happening via the same people, those people need to be called out.
