Blk Clvd rises from the depths once more with two new, painted renditions of Bölzer and Uada, both lovingly painted and detailed by @Grizlli. With a GID base the Bölzer’s skinned fleshy look on the arms and legs, and the classic greens of Frankenstein’s Monster in the face and armor, give an undead ghost pairing to the character! Uada, with the blues, oranges and golds puts me in a deep dive of the ocean, where Uada guards the Lost City of Atlantis and whatever treasures and history may be buried in the dead, underwater civilization. I’ll also say Uada specifically looks a bit of Vegeta from Dragonball Z in the armor, which is so awesome.

I’m very much appreciating that, not only is Mikee resurrecting the fight figure somethin’ proper, but in a way that’s original to his personality and tastes as an artist. Make no mistake, Kvltvs absolutely *are* fight figures, yet there’s inherent qualities that put them in their own sub genre amongst the fight figure family tree!

Thanks guys. I really pressed to get as much done as I could. I work 12 hour days in film mon-fri so I was hustling 12-14 paint days on weekends trying to get everything done. I wanted to show everyone that while Griz is a paint whiz I also can throw my fair share of paint around. I have painted 75% of all the kvltvs figures released but I sometimes worry people aren’t aware that I’m painting.
That said Designer Con was amazing and great vibe and energy. I have some fun announcements coming up soon so I can’t wait to share with everyone The fun we have coming up. Collabs shows new sculpts it’s all on the way.

Kvltvs had a plethora of offerings at DCon. Unfortunately, I was only able to grab what I picked as a favorite, but it’s a damn good one. Mikee’s got a very distinct style to his painting and I think this Bölzer shows that quite well. The moment I saw this Bölzer I immediately thought of Swamp Thing. The browns and greens give me forest trees, while the painted veins are reminiscent of the trees roots. The Kvltvs fighters are, in my opinion, severely overlooked and underrated. Both in the fighters category and sofubi in general.

Thanks Robert! I really tried to pull out the bells and whistles with these new runs for Dcon. I have a bunch of fun projects in the works and I am hoping to further push my paint work even further.

In the mood for an update. So I have many thoughts on many things at this current moment in Sofubi. I want to express them but I feel like it’s better to let me actions speak for me. With that in mind I have news to share and why I’m sharing it.
First new sculpt heading to Japan

    LORD LEECH OMEGA!!!
So the reason for this sculpt is two fold. One it’s rad fun and brutal and many seem to really enjoy the original Soul Leech design. When I came up with him I just wanted him to be this solid mix of cute in size and terrifying in design. I’m stoked people responded to that. With that in mind it seemed like a fun idea to then upscale him and lose the cute scale and go for a chunky 6.5” scale sculpt. Lord Leech is the biggest thing I’ve produced and I am beyond stoked to see what that means In terms of ideas and paint apps. I wanted to make some thing that I could keep at an affordable price point but added more story to peoples shelves. There are man surprises attached to this project that I want to save so that people are in fact surprised later. I feel like to much of what we do now is done to show it on social media and I want to be able to put something out and be like “oh by the way.” And have people be floored by a moment of instant gratification in terms of see it and it exists in your hands.

That said there are still many more Kvltvs on the way…

I had the joy of working with Aaron Klopp on this new print for the next Kvtlvs Drop which involves one of these characters and should be happening very soon. So stay tuned for more info…

Blk Clvd takes another swing at the fight figure world with their latest release of Bölzer, in their take on the classic Bullmark Minya paint app. Goddamn, does this one come across mean as hell, but so…pretty!!! The battle axe is a pretty awesome and fitting omake, only furthering the feel of this fight line being born to battle. I haven’t fully examined the Soul Leech, so I’m unsure of the vinyl base, but this one comes across very elegantly. The metallic blues and fading in/out pinks brush very nicely together. I failed to get a photo of the print and inserts that accompanied the release, so I will get back on that. However, I will say, Blk Clvd spared no expense when it comes to both the quality of the artwork, as well as the print. Stellar. The blank red, for now, will remain sealed in its bag. I’m hangin’ onto that one as purity.

With Kvltvs already being the special and important resurgence to fight figures as it is, today was an even more awesome day for the line of mythical maulers. Skullbrain’s very own seasoned veteran, and all around great dude, @Paulkaiju has lent his signature vision and application of colors to the black water wrestler, Uada!!! Two versions offered on a milky white base. And with the Cthulhu - esque nature, in a similar vein to Paul’s Hyper Kraken, this is very much a great and suiting collaboration.

Thanks for posting this Robert! I was beyond stoked Paul was down to do a run on a Kvltvs Fighter! He absolutely crushed these and I am incredibly grateful to the Kaiju Master for laying the paints on these.
Speaking of rad guest paint apps we got another collab instore for down the pipeline…

So I can’t stop looking at this insane Alcest that Mikee painted for me during my recent visit to the Scumpit. I keep taking it down off the display shelf to enjoy it in hand while I’m watching tv. He even changed it up by using different arms to give him a bit more of a sorcerer vibe (in my mind anyway) to ratchet up the bad assitude!
(the ice sword was my addition to it when I got home, I think it fits.)

Mikee is really coming into his own as a painter, each run is successively better than the last. So happy to have this guy in the collection!

Can we all take a moment and appreciate the fantastic (damn you reed richards) DOOM homage Mikee put together? He even had cloaks made special. I’m not usually a fan of soft vinyl with cloth clothing; but this is perfect. Glad to have one on my shelf!

A moment indeed, Phil! Several moments, in fact! Goddamn, Mikee held back no punches with this release. I knew it was comin’ with the cloak, but seein’ the quality of how it’s made adds so much more to the overall delivery. The homage is perfect, too, and I’m glad it’s not mistakable for an MF Doom homage(not a bad thing, just not it). This is all Kirby. Mikee’s choice of paint style continues to shine through his Warhammer mini skills, but this fighter is so clean that it rings a bit familiar to masked paints of Secret Base fighters far before it. The inclusion of the Ultimate Nullifier and spell book accessories, along with the classic Soul Leech omake, put this particular fighter in a class of its own in my eyes. All around Fant4stic( 8) ) effort from Blk Clvd, and another big reason why this toy line should heavily be supported and touted!

Blk Clvd and Kvltvs are gonna make a voodoo out of ya, and flick ya nuts. The reference material for this release was handled *exquisitely* between both Mikee and Griz to fit the overall packaged deal. The arms, from Griz’s figure Shambles, give such a mystifying, voodoo vibe, with a position and reach that looks of spell casting! Once again showing that Blk Clvd puts thought into ideas, and ideas into reality, and treats collectors with niceties and fun fight figures!!!

From the depths of depravity and despair comes Kvltvs’ first flame of many fires to scorch the sofubi landscapes: Lord Leech Omega. Existing solely for the purpose of reaving souls to the Scum Pit, Lord Leech is conceptualized and designed by our own @coma21 and sculpted by King Hideous. Five points of articulation and standing at 6.5” tall, this figure is a great size for both physical handling and shelf space. The profile shows somewhat of a foward lean, almost as if it’s in a forward floating motion towards someone/something, and has a bit of a Scooby - Doo chase look. The claw hands, the teeth inside of the hood, the blank staring open eye on the back. Wonderful, playful, evil details. The cloak itself is sculpted in a way that is flowing and the tears on the shoulders and back are welcome details. This is the Hell Awaits version, first painted release.

Hunter X. I’ll let this one speak for itself, but it also deserves to be talked about amongst the SB peers. Holy shit, is this one going to be more than scratching the itch, and more tearing at the flesh.
