    I knew you would -- You're welcome. <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif\" alt=\":)\" title=\"Smile\" />

They have some incredible live footage. Being on that side of the world, you should try to see them sometime!

I just picked up Vidsyn- On Frostbitten Path Beneath. Nocturno Culto sings on 2 tracks and Hellhammer plays drums on all five tracks. Definetly worth getting. Anything is Nocturno singing is worth getting ;)

I saw Deafheaven and Alcest last night. Both were awesome. Definitely go see them on their tour if you even remotely like either.

It is -- I silly-ly did not check out this link, but I've been listening to the album all day. Definitely one of the best bm albums I've heard in a while.

The new Drudkh is quite good too. They've always been one of my favorites.

The promo sticker make me sick but the album rules.
Old school Voïvod punk vibe all around !

Nothing traditional these days, but I just got the new Sutekh Hexen on LP the other day!
Also the Locrian and Mamiffer LP (even less black metal.. but there are elements!)

It's funny someone mentioned Dwid being on some album they liked. He is on the Sutekh hexen one as well. It's also funny that it's there strangest album because it's not nearly as over the top as there other stuff. I was a bit disappointed it didn't work as much with the wall of noise the other stuff has.

I've been in the mood for something really and cruddy sounding lately.. I'm going to skim through this thread and see what's new!

Sutekh Hexen are pretty boss, as are Locrian. I was unaware they had new albums, I've got a couple of 7"s from each, and I think the Horseback / Locrian split, which is fantastic.

Chris -- Check out Ash Borer. I think you'd enjoy them. They're not cruddy at all, but very bleak and have a very dense, atmospheric at times, sound. One of my favorite bm bands by far.

I'm frustrated I keep missing the Sutekh Hexen 7" when they get represses. That 3 X 7" set was so nice, but I just kept second guessing the price. I should have just gotten it.
Locrian are an absolute favorite. I think I have everything except a few of the early releases and the tape loop ones.

Ash Borer! Yes, I've liked what I've heard and should give them a better listen. Thanks for the advise.

For crappy cruddy punk/BM I think Sump is a favorite. Raspberry Bulbs is fun too. Not something I can listen to every day, but when I'm in the mood it makes me really happy.

French Canadien girls who make black metal. Why is that so sexy? And why are they only having wine for dinner? That song's certainly not bad, but I can't tell what I don't like about it. I suppose it's maybe the symphonic / keyboard areas, albeit very short in duration.

I haven't been listening to too much bm lately, though I am sure that will change in time. The newest Lunar Aurora and Drudkh still get a lot of play.

Been listening to a lot of Mayhem lately after watching the Pure Fucking Mayhem documentary. It didn't tell me much I didn't already know (besides that Attila is a cuckoo bird), but it's still an interesting watch and it made me delve a little deeper into a band that I always kind of just glossed over as being boring or 'black metal by the numbers,' in a sense.

They're coming to Tampa five days after my birthday! <img src=\"{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif\" alt=\":D\" title=\"Very Happy\" /> Anyone else fans or going?

Buuuhhh. It'll be my second time seeing them and I'm so glad I don't have to drive to Atlanta for it, haha. Fuck, I'm so excited and it's over two months away!

    ---

Also, the new Panopticon album, Kentucky, is sounding awesome. I had to order it (my first record purchase in a few months). Two different tracks from it can be heard at the following links:

Ashes Against the Grain is definitely one of my all time favorite BM albums.

That's awesome -- I had no idea! I erroneously linked the tour schedule with that logo in my post, but you should totally go see them in Brooklyn (on my birthday, no less). I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Cool, that's right after my birthday too.

Yeah, I'm not a very adventurous BM listener, I don't listen to it a ton and am ok with just a handful of go to bands that can satisfy the craving when I get one. Drudkh- probably my favorite BM band of all time, Agalloch, wolves, immortal, Mayhem, Fen. I don't really post in here, because I have nothing interesting to contribute

Joe -- If you haven't heard the new Drudkh, you ought to. It's way good, so that's nothing out of the ordinary there.

I've been looking for music suggestions, so I'll definitely check this out soon.

Anyone else got some bm new release suggestions? I don't know why, but Mayhem - Chimera has been on a lot lately, this song right now. That, and while not necessarily bm, I've been revisiting Skeletonwitch. Beyond the Permafrost is a flawless victory.

I pretty much can't get into anything after De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas from Mayhem...

I've been listening to a lot of Xasthur lately. I'm wondering when he's going to release material from his new band, Nocturnal Poisoining. The Xasthur/Nortt split is great.

The latest Sigh is great. I love the piano/sax jazzy pieces. You"ll need to be open to dig this
It is still BM but in spirit more than in music.

Some people are either old Mayhem or new Mayhem fans. Few, like me, can get into both. Though vastly different in ways, I think both are pretty great.

I've heard the new Sigh is good. I've certainly got an open mind, but I'm afraid to try it out, haha. But like I've said before, I trust your taste.
