That was cruel but also very funny. I find it weird how people find animals suffering more distressing
then humans in some circumstances i do like when dogs cry i think its the fact that they cant defend themselves like babies.

For me it's that not only can't they defend themselves, but they also don't have the ability to process what is happening. If someone walked up to you and punched you in the face at least you would be able to understand the circumstances regarding the violence (either you deserved it, or it was completely random, or the puncher was on drugs, or whatever). An abused animal can't go through a thought process to make sense of what's happening and that makes it all the more scary and cruel.

Yes very good point i think im just desensitized to violence well look at the world we live in. The world revolves around war and some random donkey gets para sailed through the the air while three soldiers got killed recently by a rouge Afghan army soldier and people are up in arms about this.

Sorry im just ranting disregard this comment even though i believe the media are cunts

As much violence that may exists, I don't feel that I can become desensitized. In nature, in a survival of the fittest situation, some violence is necessary to eat. However wars, fist fights over petty shit, and even stupid acts like this, are all driven by humans... no matter the degree of violence. And its not about survival, it's about business, politics, and most ironically, religion. It all just reinforces the notion that humans are quite literally a cancer on this planet. We are organisms who invade, infect, spread, and ultimately destroy without the slightest regard for our host, the Earth (of course I'm speaking of the general population, not every single individual within it). Maybe they were trying to convey that it's safe for any clueless patron to partake, and end up safely back on dry ground. However, a human, knowing they were parasailing and in no actual danger, would just experience a thrill and some increased adrenaline. I doubt they sat the donkey down to explain to him the situation and that there was going to be no bodily harm involved. Okay, so no physical damage done. The mental and physical stress that the donkey underwent was far worse than that of a human in the same event that actually comprehends the situation. "I'm flying above the ocean. I'm not a water dwelling animal. I'm not an animal of flight. And I can't comprehend language or the situation I'm in. I am in danger." If they put a toddler in the same situation, most people would consider it wrong. But an animal? No big deal. The mental stress and fear of each is similar... but of course, if it's not our species, who cares.

I'm very sorry for ranting. This type of thing just further proves how awful we are as a species, even though not a fraction as bad as the animal cruelty of the food industry... which can at least be considered necessary. Although they/we certainly over-necessitate and try to justify exactly what we think we need to eat. But this is just utterly senseless torture. Even if they were confident no physical damage would be done (if they were even concerned), do they even consider the non-physical damage? No. Althought I love many many individual people, and have an overall love for all living things... I do not feel guilty in the slightest to say that humans are legitimately a cancer. As small of an incident that this is, it really does convey our disregard for other creatures' well being, of either/or animals and other humans. Again, sorry for the rant, but as a practitioner of ahimsa, this is something I am very passionate about, regardless of the scale of the particular event... especially as senseless and without reason as this. Stupid.

But he didn't get punched in the face, he went parasailing. I've never been parasailing. That donkey may now be the most content donkey on the planet having seen the world in a different light than any other donkey.

I've been parasailing. Surprisingly peaceful. The jolt when you take off is a tiny bit startling. But then the ride is actually smoother than being in the boat.
That said, I doubt a donkey would who wouldn't understand what's going on would find it enjoyable. Everyone here should definitely go. Just not in Russia with those guys.
