It I'd love to see some US toy makers involved in a VAG style series MVH - gatcha dx PK - gatcha bats or chimera or hellmocks Retroband - gatcha-meats SPLURRT - gatcha cinema monsters DHP - Gatcha Alavaka Doubt this will happen but curious what other sets you all think would make a good US series If this idea sucks I apologize. Go back to watching legion or whatever.
I think the Cadaver Twins(maybe Krono) for Joe and the Gobo King for Paul would be super fun. I'd also love to see VAG Semi Korosiya for Cop A Squat Toys.
I think if it were to happen then super-deformed new sculpts are in order.. shrinking down existing designs can work (not really for Maza however I prefer gacha BGT mermaid rather than the full size version) but I would rather see brand new sculpts. Max Toy has done a great job with his gachas. Pretty sure this is what TAG is doing with PK, Ugly doll, Candies Bolton...think others might be coming too. There might have been Martin Ontiveros and other sculpts I remember seeing. @IronPaw might know more.
Wow that's right - TAG hit me up about a gacha series back in 2014. We sculpted 6 new characters for it and sent them off to Japan.. then the project just died. I spent maybe a year trying to light a spark underneath the production but this was all around the time the TAG gallery/retail space closed down. I know many other artists were involved.. I saw some great designs behind the scenes. I could track down the images I saw (assuming the project is dead then I guess it's ok to post photos.. or maybe if involved artists are reading this, they can post their own images). Heard any word about this TAG Gacha series lately @IronPaw ? As far as I can remember Paul Kaiju, Splurrt, James Groman were the only ones who managed to get their gacha sets completed. As far as I have heard, they are still in Japan waiting to be made. There has been talk on this board about certain production people in Japan dropping the ball on some pieces, that includes some of the stuff mentioned above. I myself have not seen the Groman gachas so im not sure which ones are being mentioned here. We also have gacha sculpts from Joseph Harmon that are hilarious, I would have to find pics. But @badteethcomics I am pretty sure yours are still in line to be made, but as I mentioned before there is a bunch of other projects that are supposed to be completed first.
Whoops I was talking about the military themed dinosaurs, Dino-Blasters I think they might be called.. or are they not part of the gacha group?
Speaking for myself, I never saw the gacha sized Groman pieces. I did get to handle the dinos crossed with insects, which are really fucking gross for people that hate insects, but those are too big for gacha size. They would not fit into the capsules that the VAG come in. Man they are creepy, but the sculpt is so well done. Rounded in the right spots and great textures. I dont enjoy handling bug toys, especially when they are so well done. View this post on Instagram
