I've got no problem with Frank or how he feels about making money. Some of his products have had slightly iffy QC...and absolutely horrendous release schedules (Coral Sea? yikes). I just don't like the double standard that says someone like NagNagNag's cool...but somehow Frank isn't.
so fucking true... this board can be pretty selective on who they decide to burn depending on the three points of seperation factor...
Has nagnagnag made their own appearance on the board to hype their product? If so I'm not aware, I never did buy that hype.
you're comparing apples and oranges here. One argument is based on money and trying to make as much as possible off of a "scene" and then moving on to the next big thing; and the other is just a hyped toy that has nothing to do with skullbrain at all. I'd be curious if mori saw any of the money from those "custom" giant evils sold at his la show last year. Didn't those sell for like 2 grand there? Edit... $3500 for the giant evil http://billyshirefinearts.com/09kozik/A ... utant.html and I don't care if the wahmbulance comes out, it's my opinion. (if they had an agreement before, whatever, I'm just making note of it here)
frank has friends here still, even if we don't buy the stuff he makes nowadays. he gave me a ride once because it was cold and drizzling. that SUV had three wiper blades on the windshield. THREE! thats the power of art, it can buy you a sick truck. frank couldn't help himself from arguing with other members here. i liked that. it seems most artists are too wary of stepping on some toes and keep their opinions to themselves when signed on to skullbrain. i understand if you work for super7 that you have to keep a clean nose for the most part (though alex and glenn still put in the occassional snide and aggressive rebuke). when kozik was an active member here, he didn't hold himself as any authority or privileged person. he was just another shitkicker like the rest of us.
I miss the shitkickers. They all left well said ub, he can have fans here but the naysayers should be able to have their say as well.
I'm not all that crazy about what he does with toys, but I do miss Frank's smarts and his value as someone on the inside track.
No, no naysayers, everyone must kiss everyones ass... Or at least the ass of "artists" or people they think can hook them up some how.
Frank himself never considered himself an artist, he's stated that on more than one occasion. He's stated elsewhere about seeing the future collapse of the toy scene and moving on. I liked bantering with him, but when the money well dried up he was gone. He is great self promoter for sure. Cesar was mainly here because of his bro Ramos.
Sounds like that truck already came and went Like or hate him, the very notion that Frank can still stir fans and haters alike in a frenzy despite his self imposed absence (whatTFever) makes him cool in my book.. and I don't care what anyone else says it's my opinion, hurmp.
