After two weekends spent rearranging my toys, I think I'm finally satisfied... I like the contrast between the super-organized display in the first cabinet versus the chaotic mish-mash of the second. Sort of left-brain, right-brain. More photos on the blog.
Killer stuff - I love the wooden shelf display method, esp when they're behind glass... If you can't fit that cronic camguts in there just give me a shout
nice collection of in there i like the crammed shelf style its funner to scan through thing over and over again especially liking the blobpus rusted looking one red chrome is that all unpainted black in between the GID also is that a custom blobpus in the second pic first shelf
absolutely amazing collection of stuff.. such a nice variety, and loving the wood cabinet w/ glass displays.
That is a set of the Dream Rocket Gatchamon from SF45 (?). They sold the plain clear glittery version, and 10 other variants with paint sloshed on the inside.
Nice variety of creatures there Daniel. Man seeing that Garumega makes my mouth water in anticipation of mine arriving. He really is HUGE! Thanks for those dimensions btw. I love your wooden/glass display shelf also. There is something about a long crowded kaiju shelf you just can't with a Detolf. Chris
Great pieces in there - wish the pics were larger so I didn't have to strain my eyes trying to peek at them all!!
Thanks for all of the nice comments, everyone! There are some bigger pictures on my flickr- I was going to put up larger versions on a blog post, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
Last bunch of stuff for a while probably... thanks to the really cool board members that helped me land a few of these pieces! Walder Akrokaiser. This was the last major Dokuro King homage vinyl missing from my collection. Now to wait until the Plant Man Ohgan Bat is released... hum dee dum. Zigra by Marmit Vinyl Paradise. He's big, he's blue, and he cost me about $10. 9 inches of rainy day fun. Wiley Seijin by Ark. Obscure Silver Kamen kaiju. Nice subtle mustard yellow and moss green sprays over black vinyl- beautiful in a way that is peculiar to Ark vinyls. Clap Monsters Zaran. One of these found its way to me out of the blue. How could I refuse? The colors sort of look like Muruchi Seijin, no? And finally, solving a mystery from November of last year, this Nakayoshi Astromons was a surprise to me when I found it, as I had never seen one with an orange base vinyl color. The seller also had a 'Hawaiian' Red Jack from the same company, so I have to think it's a fairly old release- maybe even the first production version. The mystery from November is this unpainted orange Astromons (bottom) that was found at Mandarake in Shibuya. I guess it is an unpainted test shot for this colorway, probably raffled off at some show or other. The bagged toys will be released into the wild soon.
I just won the clear green Blobpus/Blobpi set on YAJ literally 2 minutes ago and your pictures on the first page have me REEEEALLY excited for when they come! Nice shots, nice kaiju!!!
Re: [6/19/08] akum6n's junk... new beginnings. Well, back to taking photos on my desk. Pinya has creepy eyes!
Re: [6/19/08] akum6n's junk... new beginnings. Tons of cool shit, man. I really like looking at the way you've got your stuff displayed and I enjoy how varied it is.
