So..I've been wanting to switch careers and get onto the railroad as a Conductor for a commuter rail in the DC region. its been a dream of mine to work on the RR.

They've always been about some "you can never work here unless you've worked on the RR before..."

Times are changing...they won a huge contract in Boston and that recruiter will be asking if anyone wants to move there for the job.

I've been talking to a guy who is a conductor and told me recently they ARE hiring people w/o RR exp. I typed a great cover letter and highlighted all of my safety exp from working Loss Prevention at Tower Records/Video. Safety was a big part of the job.

I know a guy who works CSX RR as a track inspector. He's a friend from high school. I added him to my cover letter as a reference with his RR #. (This WILL get me a look and hopefully an interview..)

So...onto my fuck you.

Last night on the train home, this one asshole conductor named Wayne was talking to a ''train friend'' i've become friends with. nice gal named Lachonne... She said just out of the blue..."you know he wants to be a Conductor.."

To which Wayne replies, "Pfft..THAT'LL NEVER HAPPEN..."

I started to slink away and walk to go sit down..and he went to open the doors at a stop.

She didnt catch what he said to me...but I did and told her. She could see the impact it had, just from the look on my face.

I heard from the manager this week, that he got my res, cover letter and recent Employee of the Quarter for the Govt contracting firm I work for - for outstanding Customer Service. He thanked me and said it was going in his "Personal folder.." I thanked him and added I hoped to hear from him in the future..He wrote RIGHT BACK and told me I was Welcome.

There is a new line that will be finished soon near where I live...I hope I get the chance to interview because I know Im going to sell myself.

SO FUCK YOU.,. for trying to shit on my DREAM.

if i didnt want the job, i would probably email the manager back and tell him nevermind, i dont want to work with assholes and explain what happened.. im sure he'd love to hear how the guy was shitting on the customers with comments like.."i just look at them like their stupid when i get mad at them for BEING CUSTOMERS...who pay your fucking salary.

Why slink away? I would have asked why he would say such a thing and ask if he could give some pointers on how to make it happen. Sure he was a dick, but maybe you could use him to your benefit? Then stick it in his face once it happens

 

This right fuckin' here, man. And the fact that several continually cause problems and stir up shit around here with zero repercussion is a pretty sad reflection of the mods. No disrespect to them, but I don't understand why no action has been taken to keep this place clean.

i figured he wasnt worth my time. besides, another nicer conductor pointed me in the direction to a back door email/manager contact 2 weeks ago. they have my info and its being kept in the hiring manager's personal folder.

ill still enjoy smiling at him if i get the chance to join their team.

Fuck Apple (and any region playing DVD reader/writer) for making it so damn difficult to watch a simple fucking DVD. Was trying to watch my BBC Planet Earth DVD this morning and remembered (for the umpteenth time!) that my iMac won't read the DVD's. Probably because they originate from the UK. My life seems to revolve around everything I own being from another country (whether it be music, toys, clothes, food you name it but that's another fuck you altogether- because the US sucks hard ass for most culture related things).

Anyhow I finally figured out a work around to this using an external DVD drive and VLC as my program to play the DVD. Picture is better in VLC anyhow. So fuck you Apple, I will not be stopped!

Oh and a big fuck you to the UK discogs seller who sold me a mint Enforcers 3, only for the record to arrive with bubbles in the actual record due to it being a picture disc making it unplayable!
