Yep, I've noticed that over the last few years. Vintage band T's going for silly money. I suppose most get washed out or stretched, so some older ones in good condition are rare.
Yup. It's kinda crazy. I sold a battered old sleeveless Ministry shirt with a Pushead graphic on it for almost $50 a couple years ago. Over the summer I was at a flea market and there was a guy there with some Type O Negative shirts for sale. I asked about one of them, and he replied that it cost $275. I laughed and walked away.
Hmm I'm definitely going to put my Supreme Joy Division tee up then. I mean I never wear it and I feel like it could sell for a decent amount on the bay. I guess I'm a t-shirt flipper lol but hey it's been 12 years, some concert tees are even older than that. I never know how to price these things though. I feel guilty even contemplating it.
Haha, go for it T-flipper . . . i have a vintage Sugarcubes 'Stick Around for Joy' shirt that the hipsters would die for, but i don't want to sell it. You have a point though, im gonna have to go through my old shirts see if i can part with any.
I had a kid I've never seen before at a local hardcore show offer me $150 for my 15 year old Darkthrone shirt...I did not at all understand his train of thought.
