The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread

Been meaning to post my dcon haul here since it was 2-3 weeks of mail basically.
I actually am most stoked that I FINALLY have a Hedorah. Especially a CCP. It’s one of the first sculpts I ever saw and I was hooked.

That Jeremiah Ketner custom is lovely too though.

Based on one of a series of sculptures found in Acambaro,Mexico.Apparently they were made by some ancient civilisation but this seems to have been largely debunked.
Anyway I am always up for some Cryptid sofubi action and had to grab one.
I think it is made by Maruan Shokai and its huge,about 25/30 cm ,in a nice teracotta vinyl.There seems to be a painted release in the same colours as the header art.

Maxtoy’s Mazinger Z (animation color)


I am super happy I got this guy; really a charming sculpt. About 6” tall, and just the right amount of chunk to the proportions. I got the Jet Scrander (wings) version which is a removable part which leaves you with the Standard Mazinger if that’s what you choose. If you’re on the fence with this guy, I really suggest picking one up if the opportunity arises!

 

@hellopike Love the way the proportions of that Mazinger look! Reminds me of the bootleg Ultra Man and Dragon Ball Z figures I’d get from a local dollar store as a kid. They were about 12” tall, but all had almost this exact stance. Very rigid in terms of playability(only articulation was the arms and heads), but for $1.09 each there’s no way I could argue.

 

Toy mail deliveries these days are few and far between. This was my last piece of mail from 2020.

 

@hellopike seconding what's been said about that Mazinger - love the proportions! Looks like it'd be a blast to play with as well.



This Atomcat by DINER arrived just before the new year. Really nice translation of Tezuka's work, reminds me of Denboku's stuff but without the single day license!

 

Ugh. I slept on getting one of those atomcats and now I really regret it. Looks just great!

 

Thanks for the info on this figure. I thought the design was interesting, but didn't know the historical basis for it.

 

Started the year with a frankly irresponsible box day I was travelling and lost track of how badly all these would stack up at home. Kougai needs a clean as it's very tacky and leaves a faint black residue on my fingers, but I think it'll fix up nicely. Before I can really enjoy the haul I will need to do some spring cleaning, so keep your eyes open.

@zindabad Thanks, dude! I totally forgot they were random! All the stories I’ve seen Spectrum Labs has posted were red(maybe orange?) towers! The pink goes so nicely with the blue Godesu!

 

Got these guys recently. Was so happy to snag them. The iridescent/holo stuff I cannot get enough of.
Totally want more sparkle. It can be such a great canvas for a myriad of palettes if done properly.

It’s kind of closure to have these. I left the Diamond Dust Negora(along with a few other toys) with my ex cause it just....did not spark joy looking at them. It’s kind of perfect I got the same sofubi with a different colorway again.

 

Some new babies showed up yesterday. I've been working on parababies and the Billiken Shokai hand puppets recently. For some reason, I thought Gurania was a Parababy, lol. He's a chunky monkey!

 

I just got a couple Marmit Parababy toys in the mail also!

 

This '64 pilot ace goji showed up after 2 weeks of no tracking update, whew!

@666doll They’re porcelain, and I think intended as small planters. But they could easily house coffee or some other form of beverage!

 

Couple of these came in the end of last year but finally managed to get them all grouped together. Poor puppy got a bit blown out, still need to refine the studio setup...
