I left a message on his IG page. I just read his post in his thread this morning, then saw this a few hours later. So crazy. Rest easy Chris. You are whole and pain free now.
My condolences to everyone close to him... I`ve been at a loss for words. We weren`t close here, only some casual exchanges, but his passing has made me reflect a lot on collecting and health. RIP
Wow, this is indeed sad news. As has been stated, he was a very passionate guy that never neglected to let his feelings show be they happy, angry or just plain fed up with whatever was getting to him at that time in his life. I always knew if there was a rant worth reading, it would have been one of his, very often making me laugh out loud, causing me often to get funny looks at work. My first interaction with him was letting him know about an auction on YJA for a set of Sanda and Gaira that he was hunting, that seemed to be flying under the radar for a steal, and was glad that it ended up on his shelves. I too, often lived vicariously through him via his awesome collection of both, sofubi vinyl, as well as the kind to spin on the turntable. To his family I send heartfelt condolences. He made our lives brighter and he will indeed be missed. RIP, my friend.
@foto junkaay , do you know what happened to the donations on Chris's go fund me page? I could have sworn that I also saw that the goal was reached and was over $3000. However, when I went to donate today, it says there's a little over $2,500..? I hope that those donations didn't get cancelled or anything.
I just checked, I noticed that the donation of $720 is now missing which is what pushed it to the $3k mark. It looks like it might have gotten canceled :/
Gotcha. At least it was one donation as opposed to many. I hope whoever made the donation knows what happened. Hopefully the goal will still be reached soon enough.
I am extremely sad to hear of this news. Chris was always one of my favorite skullbrainers. He had a strong personality and an amazing collection. Rest easy my friend
I am so sad to hear that our dear Chris passed away... My condolences to his Family. Thank you for the good times here, Chris. You will certainly be remembered. R.I.P.
OMG! I rarely have the time to venture into this subforum lately, but this is a shock. I just always assumed (prayed?) he would just get better. I am deeply saddened and sick to my stomach. Chris was a good guy and a major influence on my collecting. My condolences to his family. He will surely be missed here.
I haven’t written anything here because most of what I’ve been feeling has already been said and I’ve really just been at a loss for words. I think the thing I appreciated most about Chris, aside from his awesome photography and toy collection, was how definitive he was with what he liked and disliked and the unapologetic way with which he would share those opinions. Truly a free thinker and a strong willed spirit, you will live on in the hearts and minds of collectors of this niche worldwide.
Seldom a day goes by that I do not think of Chris, either by coming here, chatting with some folks, coming across something online, looking at a toy in my collection, or even just randomly throughout the day. I deeply miss the conversations we used to have, and what we shared over our mutual love of vintage heroes. Action fists and removable masks up, Chris!
