Ode to Spot by Lt. Cmdr. Data Felis Catus is your taxonomic nomenclature An endothermic quadruped carniverous by nature Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses. I find myself intrigued by your sub-vocal oscillations A singular development of cat communications That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection. A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion Oh Spot, The complex levels of behavior you display Denote a fairly well developed cognitive array And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.
The account just started following me, and I promptly blocked them. They will get no support from me making that hot AI garbage.
I don't think they're making any of this crap. Just putting a bunch of pictures together to show what they could do. I checked out their website, it looks like they'll give you a shit ton of potential pictures of what they can make then I think they'll charge you a bunch of money to make one of them. I don't think anything they make will be runs. It just seems like ugly one-offs. I'm not sure, I didn't actually sign up. The furniture looks a lot better than the toys. You can see the influence in some of the toys but all of them look like garbage. And none have proper hands. I think they're just trying for attention right now.
It reminds me of that horrible app/website everyone (self-included) was using four years ago or so to make crazy psychedelic images from existing photos. It kept making dog heads appear too. Something dream rendering or blah blah....
Since when could you make a toy from some blurred out 2D image? I think they would do better saying their AI could create odd shaped coke bottles or some glass blown marijuana pipe? L7
https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/commen...urce=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf This would be better source material
If you could put together your own database of images and train the program on them, you can twink the other params and get different results. Dog head avoidance would be key, but it's beyond me.
These fugliest sofubi were all done with online AI software, craiyon, formerly known as dall-e mini: http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/index....-while-collecting.42327/page-230#post-1016136 www.craiyon.com Deep Dream date:

If this catches on, would it be safe to say “the golden era of neo sofubi is over”? Like, two in the head? It’s so crappy everywhere you look now.
Some of those might actually be good if a human sculpter took the design and then hand sculpted a version, without trying to exactly reproduce the ai design. For me what's always most appealing about a sculpt are the little asymmetries and imperfections. Like I would go for a finger puppet or coin bank of this guy. I might even like it as-is. He's got a lazy eye But I agree most of these are a little too Pokémon and too "designer toy" as they appear. View this post on Instagram
