@ultrakaiju - Thanks Steve. Dennis only posted the mini set sales on his Instagram. Instagram and Twitter are the way for communication for makers now vs a blog. I thought it was smart that Dennis dropped these in his online shop during different times during the day.
Hahah, I know! I am so out of touch. I am still afraid to pick up the phone if it rings when I am using the internet.
As luck comes my way from time to time. Getting hit up for these was just that.. needless to say I am in LOVE with the new micro Kumon and Neko. Incredible really I think I’m going to need a bigger web. Spoiler: Glow&BlackLight
My Kumon collection so far.. View this post on Instagram It took me close to two years to actually score one and in the past 18 months, I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on 8 of them. It’s become one of my favorite toys in my entire collection.
View this post on Instagram A couple of months ago I temporarily lost my job and then got loaned out to another company. The project I was sent to by my new temporary employer was not top secret (which is rare for me). So I was able to have my cell phone on me during the day. I walked out to the shit splattered porta potty to pee, smoke, and check Manda before it got too hot (a 70 degree shit splattered porta potty is infinitely better than a 100 degree shit splattered porta potty). Manda hadn’t been updated since I last checked so I jumped on IG, while I finished my smoke (in the shit splattered porta potty). I stumbled across this one off giant Kumon, and thought “there’s no way this is still available!?”. Lo and behold it still was! So I grabbed this and a mixed parts Grem-X by Rampage Toys (super fun sculpt!) that I had had my eye on. Couldn’t friggin’ believe it. When I received the package it was immediately one of the most fun packages I’ve ever received in the mail! The store I purchased them from (Vintage Vinyl Club) was an absolute treat to deal with on top of it. In a shit luck world it’s nice to know that *sometimes the tables can shift in your direction, at a moments notice (even in a shit splattered porta potty).
Woah and I saw that post thinking “no way there’s any left” and I didn’t even bother to look congrats on the score dude!! It’s fucken killer!
"Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the luckier you get, especially in a shit splattered Porta Potty." - Ray Kroc
Was able to score my third big Kumon a few weekends ago. Tickets to come see it in person at my house start at $250 per viewing but includes punch and pie
This collaboration release between Shirahama Toy and Mike Sutfin is...unbelievable. Gorgeous colors, spectacular marbling, and goddamn it, LOOK at this header art. The micros that came with are just so, so cool. Tiny, but packin’ tons of detail and expression, a la Ggml micros(if it’s not considered offensive to compare). Phenomenal release. I couldn’t be more excited to have added this to the collection. Spoiler
@The Moog Yes. Yes, I had a similar reaction when I laid eyes on this specimen. These color choices and the *minimal* spray of just red in the eyes. Brilliant.
@noeleaser You are on an incredible roll man, keep up that lucky streak! @patrickvaz Oh man!! I am very happy for your Patrick. Just goes to show you that, every once in a while (and granted it can be very rare) things do work out for good folks. Congratulations on that doozy of a figure. He is a beauty and you certainly had just the right timing to, you know, do what you were gonna do. Amazing. @xSuicide Squadx So, so lovely. I agree, this is a top-notch collab, pure artistry right there. Right down to that header, which I think is mind-blowing. Of course I am jealous, but also stoked for you to land that spider family. Meanwhile.....
Without the header card its an awesome release, with the card its nearly perfect. Congrats mate, totally get why you're excited about it. A ton of love went into that release, thats for sure!
Good point, but I wanted to show the figure in the original packaging, because in spite of being a very simple embolture, I like the vintage touch that gives it. In a certain way it also reminds me the M1 figures that are sold at events in Japan. Even without the bag my lack of photographic skills will not allow me to make the figure look as good in the photos as it looks in person.
