All lot of these collaborations were in the works prior to this chaos. We'll see what happens in the future and how everything plays out from here.
Also true. Guess you can't really back out of a collab, unless you want your own little "Unoblab" drama. Personally I'm not touching anything Tan paints or "sculpts" ever.
I did. It's a fun figure and Paul's paint job really brings it to life for me. Paul has just had an incredible year in terms of creative output. Looking forward to 2017.
co.oc29 (Chen) sculpted the PigPigMan. Once Tan had the sculpt, he began distancing himself from Chen. People who complimented Chen's skill on photos of the PigPigMan were messaged by Tan to remove their comment. As for Telebobo, they paid an unnamed Chinese artisan the equivalent of $2,000 for the sculpt. Along with that went all ownership/rights/everything. I'm sure the poor bastard thought he was getting a deal of a lifetime, but had no idea that it would be cast and replicated for tons of profit. At the end of the day though? Who the fuck cares who sculpted it. All that matters is that it wasn't Tan, and he still claims he did. Tan isn't a sculptor. Speaking of being things you aren't, I should also add that I am actually Genderbent Santa, and you should all be bribing me with cookies right now. (Hint: I like ginger lemon cream best.)
If he doesn't pop back up now, he will later with a new IG and persona. I'll be here with the popcorn.
Have we ever locked a thread for being inane? For the love of all things unholy, please Sb someone just lock it.
It's a forum dedicated to insanely overpriced and intentionally limited Japanese vinyl dolls . . . using that logic would lock EVERY thread!
You're wrong there, this thread is dedicated to insanely overpriced and intentionally limited Chinese vinyl dolls! With a nice hearty dallop of ridiculous drama!
I'm in the same boat. And as always I'm not a big fan of the eye paint. PK nailed the eyes in his release, but I've yet to see anything similar
I guess it's a one off in the sense that it was the test paint for the run that was released late last year. I've had it since last April.
Yeah that mad mimi head doesn't work for me. This head is spot on I just find the eye to be the anchor of the paint app. If the eye doesn't get me I kind of lose interest. I think that's why I find it more appealing unpainted. Usually.
I think Mad Mimi loses a lot of design sense and appeal. The overall technique is a lot rougher(aesthetically) and pulls it further away from looking like an adaptation of an 80's gross out toy(madball).
