Anyone in the LA area that wants to meet up at Al and Bea's in Boyle Heights at any time, I AM IN Hands down, best bean burritos around
Robert do you use glass as the surface for your photos or a black mirror? The photos you do always have a serious level of photographic skills Even dolls I do not care for look fricken great when you shoot them Is this a hobby or did you go to photography school for it?
Yeah, you know I never really liked the mimi monster, and maybe this is why. I could just feel the angst in that stupid grinning, sloppy sculpt. The whole company is melting like a damn popsicle.
I just checked up on my package shipment. Its smack dab in my local post office so i should be getting my Pigpig Man Halloween edition tomorrow. I should be really excited but this drama has kind of drained allot of it out of me. But im not 100% sure i want to fully quite buying his work. Maybe just be more selective with the pieces that pop up.
Honestly, the way I see it is that Tan is waiting for everyone to hopefully forget most of the drama before reappearing on IG again to peddle toys. And you know what? I'm sure most hype-chasers will come right back and overpay for his so-called self-sculpted toys. If you want a good laugh, I was told that Tan is such a raging Paul Kaiju and MVH fanboy that he wanted to be just like them... a so-called "sofubi legend" who sculpts and paints. That's why he lied about having sculpted everything himself, so he can brush elbows with the big shots. It sure worked until the curtain came down on the whole charade.
I have my first MadMimi monsters in hand, (IMO) the sculpt is awesome really fun, I don't find it sloppy at all. Insane amounts of detail, would certainly not be easy to sculpt all those drips and other features. The vinyl quality seems great and has Japanese style articulation joints. I'm officially torn... I love the toy.
Everyone screws up, hopefully he can learn from his mistakes. Time will only tell at this point. I still dig the toys, why I will keep what I have.
"Oh my, I wrongfully mistakenly marked my toy "Made in Japan" even though it's not. And then I slipped and somehow my dick ended up in your cat. Sorry 'bout that!"
Believe it or not, that was actually some guy's rape defense... and he was acquitted. https://www.google.com/amp/www.inde...eared-of-rape-a6774946.html?amp?client=safari So hey, guess some people will think that building an entire brand where you've consciously lied about who sculpted the toys and where they've been made is simply a "mistake."
I was wondering what the hell this thread was and why people keep posting in it (I assumed new hype toy correctly though!). After reading 3 or 4 pages I stopped- too much drama! Clearly a person trying to cash in on the kaiju craze by using others, and honestly that pigman thing looks like it was inspired from a nemesis character in Jim Woodring's Frank comic. Not even cleverly I might add.
