I've tried and tried, but I'm afraid I'm doomed in any further efforts to build a favorite shelf. Instead of attempting to re-do my detolf setups over and over, I think I will spend that energy working on my photo-snapping skills instead... these toys deserve better!
Fun stuff. Very "noisy" collection overall, but in a good way. Lots going on and packed shelves are always a favorite.
Thanks for the kind critique; I hope to address one aspect of the 'noise' soon-ish. I am finally giving in and purchasing a number of variously-sized risers to toss in there, allowing the guys in back to breathe - and to be seen again! The introduction of some gaps in there should also allow for better light coverage down below. While I do enjoy seeing other folks' super-neatly-organized collections (by size, color, manufacturer, etc.), it's obviously not something that I'm interested in doing when displaying my own (although you do see a small bit of that with the 2-headed action going on up top as well as with the MVH-related figures being anti-social). I enjoy having visitors get a little overwhelmed as they try to take it all in when walking into this room. The shots you see here are just my 2 detolfs... If I were to back up the camera and show you photos of the walls in here, you'd see that I continue that same cram-it-all-in-there 'style' as well when it comes to displaying (a portion of) my collection of paintings and prints. And the books! Oh, the books. And the vinyl... no, that other kind of vinyl... just so much... to collect. In short, my entire home office is an extreme exercise in noise, and I thoroughly enjoy it.
"turn it up, bring the noise!" sry couldnt resist ive been watching you add to trampt, its fun to pick them out in the wild lol well done
Oh no, my secret will get out, with my "western vinyl" items known to all! Yeah, I've been on a spree lately, but it will be time to set myself aside for a while soon. My Xmas funds somehow found themselves mixing with my toy funds over the summer, and with money - unlike humans - no offspring are generated as a result of that mingling. You will know how well I am doing on that front in the coming weeks by the frequency of my database updates, hah. Anyway, glad you are enjoying the hunt.
My favourite shelf is pretty much my only shelf at the moment so I switched up the collection a bit last week. These guys are spending some tubs.. While these guys are getting some fresh air for a few months!
So many great toys on tub timeout! Have any pics of that Charactics Hedorah on his own? All of their sculpts of the character look so good in that colorway.
Hey David, I'm sure I do somewhere - actually I had it up for sale last week (sold now) in my grail fundraiser thread. Might be able to track down the photo there. It's a great toy, and something I didn't really want to sell.. and even though my collection is colourful, it was a little too bright/clean for what my collection is growing into these days. I love Charactics stuff in general though!
Great shelf skeet you have a lot of goodies, I like the mix of some vintage and new sofubi Two standard Majin Sai feel envy jajaja. Thanks for sharing and best regards!
Indeed! Wow! I'll just post skeet's photo as my 'want' list. A most excellent display, one that's been set up just right (unlike mine). And, of course, completely hitting it out of the park with the actual figures therein. Much thanks for the snap!
I love the yellow metal shelf (where'd you get it?) and the dudes hanging upside down via magnets (I assume). Very creative display!
Great shelves, skeet. Kind of eerie and smokey with nice variety. OK. my "still" favorite shelf: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Thank you! Actually picked this shelf up at IKEA for $20 it's a great color and pretty sturdy. It comes with a mounting bar and hangs off that from the back. And the mister Ree all have magnets so they can walk about the shelves as they please.
Thank everyone! It's an ACT 4 I found on eBay for $18 shipped comes with three stands. I just used all the claws on one stand. Fits pretty well.... Defiantly hits the science project feel.
Congrats HardDragon awesome shelf! My eyes jump in all directions, so many Kumons; but I think you never have too much of them. Best regards!
