For the uninitiated, bubble-tea is non-alcoholic and non-carbonated, sweet tea, though it has less sugar than a soft drink. There are a huge variety of flavors to try. The drink is usually a mix of tea, milk, sugar, and giant black tapioca balls. The "bubble" refers to the foam created by shaking the freshly brewed tea with ice (the drink must always be shaken and not stirred). Usually, the tea is likely to be in pastel colors of pink, green or yellow. The unique ingredient of Bubble Tea is the tapioca pearl. About the size of pearls or small marbles, they have a consistency like gummy candy (soft and chewy). Being heavier than the drink they tend to always stay near the bottom of the glass. I like to blow the balls out from the straw to shoot at targets. Portland has a few places to get bubble tea, but if you ever come here go to Fat Straw, Bubble Bubble, or Blue Sky Cafe.
stickyness. Yeah, it's the clearcoat i use. Trying to find something better, and gargamel is sending me something i can push through the airbrush. I've gone through a lot of dif clearcoats, still trying to find the magic one that holds the cel-vinyl and other junk i cover these guys with on, and doesn't get sticky. Will keep evolving and working on it. Glad you guys like the new guys.
globby doesn't get enough love over here. this short stop-motion animation (more of a quick motion sketch, really) is my part for the 4th international globby day celebrations. the photo links to the video on flickr:
thanks, guys! it was a battle against the unrelenting winds today. i don't know how many times i had to reset each shot as the wind alternately knocked down one toy and then the other but worth it to join in on the celebrations!
so glad you guys like it! those are more compliments than i know what to do with, honestly. great to know i can add a little bit of positivity to these parts thanks, all! and thanks to bwana.
Great stuff Bill! And it's just perfect that Globby ended up with Takora... Speaking of, I thought the whole series used to be on YouTube. Does anyone know if it got deleted?
Afraid I have to continue with the pile-on of praise, Bill - Gimmie Gimmie ENTERTAINMENT! No sign of the whole run, Oli, but here's a bit of fun:
