I just want to say I like this toy and would like to display a couple of versions in my collection. Thats it really. In the end I wish it just came down to this - I could care less about the hype, mystery, politics and supposition providing they dont prevent the folk like me who like it from having a reasonable shot at getting it at or around retail.

Prevent this Tragedy: Vote with your feet and dont pay stupid prices on the aftermarket for this or any new release.

All of the hoopla and hype has been created by this board and not by the toy maker. It's not as if he created an account, and his first post was the photo at the beginning of the thread. It seems like a production photo was leaked (or given to Mondo) before the toy maker was ready to have a formal first release.

I dont really care where/who generated the hype. All I'm saying is that I like it, and hope to be able to get one at the intended retail price. If I can't then I wont be paying jacked up prices. I've done the same with the maza - got one in a trade, and would love another, but wouldnt dream of paying some crazy price for another.

I think the photos were available elsewhere on Japanese blogs. Like the one where the toy is drinking starfucks coffee so maybe hype is intended for sure, not that is ever a bad thing for the product itself.

To be honest one thread isn't much hype in my book.

that's what I get when I post first thing after I wake up. I'm a little cagey regarding this thread...so I'm stepping away slowly.

I have 'too much paranoias' anyway.

Even more so when the one thread isn't all "killer" and "kick ass," but more a political discussion of the merits, meaning and even of the hype itself.

Just had my wife check my reading of the kanji, and the front of the card reads "Boryoku Genjin" which means something like "Violent Caveman".　　"Gen"　is also the first character in atom, so it might be a play on words (caveman - atom man). The pink sticker says "In Commemoration of the War's End". The back of the card says "Nag Nag Nag", the Japanese word for cancer is "gan". Basically just conjecture on everything but the meaning of the kanji, but it definitely seems to have a theme running.

Not trying to restart the hype train, but it is what it is.

I can't quite put my finger on it but this makes me slightly bewildered and very curious. But then again it fits the whole tone of this thread so far.
