if you want to get the new characters, set to easiest mode and keep pressing H kick. You need to read up on which character you need to play in order to unlock the hidden ones. You will be better off practising in training first to get the moves memorized and combos like a reflex action.
I got stuck on Sagat and then Seth. I might go the lazy way and set the game to easy. To unlock, do you need to play one character all they way through or can you play your favorite then switch for the last boss?
CHARACTER UNLOCK CONDITIONS [Can unlock with one-round matches on the lowest difficulty level] Sakura: Clear with Ryu Cammy: Clear with C. Viper Dan: Clear with Sakura Fei-Long: Clear with Abel Gen: Clear with Chun-Li Rose: Clear with Dictator Gouki/Akuma: After unlocking the above six, defeat Gouki [For one-round matches: At least one perfect, no continues] Gouken: After finishing the game with Gouki, defeat Gouken [For one-round matches: at least one perfect, no continues, at least a certain number of Ultra finishes] Seth: Clear with all other characters NOTE: Gouki and Gouken only appear to show up on the second or later playthrough with a given character. Perhaps it depends on your performance in Arcade Mode. thats the guide that i used to unlock everyone. just set the game on the easiest setting and it really wont matter who you use. its basically like training mode but the opponent kind of fights back......but not that much haha. i still havent unlocked seth since i dont really want to use him. plus im way too lazy and i dont want to beat the game with everyone haha.
What's up with these silly PS3 games and no 1080p..? SF4 for the 360 is 1080p capable, but the best output is 720p on the PS3 version. Fallout 3 is the same thing, annoying as hell. It probably won't matter since draw distance doesn't really matter for a largely 2-d fighting game, but still...
if anyone has the ps3 version and wants to play, look for me. my name is pharcyde on psn. just send a message saying youre from SB or i wont accept the friend request.
Practicing like mad, and getting good tips from YouTube. Side note: Capcom just announced Lost Planet 2! Can't wait http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/1425 ... 22009.html
Just got it from my gamefly.... I remember why I broke multiple snes controllers playing street fighter 2. Played for about an hour and only won 2 fights! This is not good for my blood pressure.
Sweet!! Someone that is just a little better than me . I know what you mean, db. I was about ready to throw my controller after taking at least an hour to beat Seth....on Easy . I need to buy a new SuxAxis anyway cause my R2 button is on the fritz. So much so that there were a few fights where I wouldn't even use it. I might just map the kick to a different button but I still need that button for other games (like NHL09). At least on Easy, I get to practice while progressing through the game...if you can call trying to beat the last guy or even 2nd to the last guy for an hour, progress. And thanks to this game, I got zero work done for my Dominance War entry .
my roomie just taught me how to do some combos...the speed required to do some of them is outrageous! We were just doing the trials for Sakura on Normal and the 4th set of trials is the hardest....the funny thing is you get to the 5th trial and it's HP + cMK or something simple???!! and then you don't even unlock anything...it's just "Gallery artwork"???? w00h00???? Oh and these Mad Catz control pads are very poor with battery usage...they save your thumb from some brutality that you will experience if you're playing on PS3 with a DS3 controller.....I've decided to transition to a joystick.
You guys should go to You Tube and see some of the ways you can play. I learnt a great deal from these and now playing rank matches and winning most of the matches. You have to learn each characters powerful moves and when you play against them to defend yourself from some of the combos or ultra combos.
Jump in with a fierce, land and sweep. Walk back when he is on the ground, then sweep as he rises. Walk back when he is on the ground, then wait until he stands (very important as he will shoryuken if you don't). Repeat from the beginning! If things don't go well, jump away from him and attempt to get the same zone as when you started. If you are a quarter screen away, he will send sonic booms at you or dhalsim's low fierce and hard punches. This is where you want to be. It is pointless to fight him up close. Also, try to throw in a fireball and or a super/ultra combo if you can. If all esle fails, change the settings to easiest and 30 second rounds and attack and run. Good luck!
seth can be a little bastard even on the easiest setting. for some reason spamming roundhouse doesnt always work on him. if anyone would like to play via ps3, pm me. im down to play with some skullbrainers.
Yeah, you definitely don't want to spam roundhouse. Especially on the higher difficulty settings. The key is to not be standing near him when he wakes and be walking backwards or standing still a few bodies away when he wakes. ANd remember that the computer knows what your inputs are, so if you are standing near him when is is down and holding down, he knows your prepping a sweep. I was able to unlock all of the characters on normal/medium by the second day I had the game, having the most difficulty with beating Seth using Dhalsim. Now I can beat him every time using Dhalsim on the hardest setting by starting with a jab fireball then strong kick and jumping fierce/crouching jabx2/ forward sweep. I then walk back and as he rises go forward and tick a standing jab, then throw or sweep. And repeat. Teleporting does no good, however he is very very susceptible to tick throws and the sweep tick throw loop. My whips: (SF4-PS3) ----------------------- (Tatsunoko vs. Capcom-Wii)
Nice! Is that the TE stick? Could never find one for sale, had to settle for the fightpad. Can't believe how much it's going for on eBay, either! Been playing a lot. This game is absolutely incredible.
Haha, yeah, it's pretty addicting. Hope they release the tournament patch soon... this game is really missing a multiplayer lobby, especially now that a couple of buddies of mine also got the game.
I'm still waiting for Tatsunoko vs Capcom to be released for PS3... Is everyone else getting the other coming fighting games like KoF and Tekken?
