I probably shouldn't, but I've picked up a few Pop Sodas recently. Couldn't resist this Monster Farm version, particularly since it was painted by the guy that sculpted the figure. This one was marked "A/P #1" on its foot. A/P = Artist's Proof? Were the others marked like this?
So nice akum6n and kikaiju. Congrats. I really love it when the opt for candy-like colours on this figure. Just fits it so well. I check for popsoda's daily and as luck would have it, the one day I was away over the holiday break an almost complete collection hit the web. Someone cleaned up very very nicely and dirt cheap.
That looks great. Who is Chop? I've recently been into clear RxH Shef dyed toys. Chop seems to be pretty good at it too
Hmm, so they might all be signed the same way. My foot definitely has "A / P #1". "A /" looks like an "H", but there were definitely two separate characters on my figure. The "41" could just be a sloppy "#1". Perhaps "A/P" is 'Artist's Paint' (not Artist's Proof) and "#1" is simply to designate that it was the first version by CHOP (not that there was a second). From what I have heard, CHOP is the sculptor of the first RxH Pop Soda figure. I think they were painted using auto paints.
Wow, that CHOP HP41 is so nice . . . it does remind me of Shef. Here's a more recent photo of my 12 Early Morning Sofubi by The Moog Image Dump, on Flickr
^ Very nice Popsoda collection, Joe! I bet it will keep on growing. I took my Popsoda to Yayoi Kusama's solo exhibition: I suspect Popsoda is in love with Kusama's colorful polka dots art installations...
Thanks I’m probably not going to keep them all to be honest. Not enough room and I got them in a big ass trade deal.
