http://mondotees.com/blogs/news/8791533 ... reimagined They look pretty good. I'll be curious how they expand the line. Still no word on pricing.
They look fantastic, but I just don't feel any need to buy such a nostalgia-based product. What's next, pogs?
The prototypes looked amazing at SDCC. I think they said pricing was going to be below $20 but don't quote me on that. I'll be getting a few for sure.
Ya know I don't either. I AM going to look into picking a few of these up but it's more because I love the sculpts and less because I had them as a kid and loved them so much I slept with my Oculus Orbus madball. I swear.
Confessions of a toy collector. Don't worry, we don't judge here, haha. Or maybe we do. It seems to change on a daily basis. And you'd be surprised how many people still collect POGS.
I love the madballs! I'm definitely in for them. Not sure why we need to shoehorn marvel characters into this format though. I guess I'm a madball purist.
These are really cool, I would totally get one or two for the right price. The Venom one looks awesome! And I'm not really a superhero kinda guy at all...
I'm kind thinkin' the same thing. Don't get wrong, it looks cool, but seems unnecessary for the Madball line. I'll patiently be patiently awaiting the arrival of Dust Brain!
I'm glad these are vinyl and not made out of the squishy foam that will disintegrate over time like the original Madballs.. Although my early 2000s re-releases are holding up pretty well.
I had them all as a kid, even a few of the super madballs. The football was awesome. And the figures with the pop-off heads. Nothing wrong with nostalgia- I think it's a better reason to collect than most these days. Hornhead for president.
Series one, as long as people didn't pelt each other with them, held up pretty ok. Series two is when they switched to pure foam due to parental complaints from all the kids that kept hurting each other by beaming each other in the face. That said, based on the history of marvel movie releases with Mondo, I am sure they and Disney saw it as a money grab so we will get our Marvel fix here. They still look awesome and I am looking forward to owning (hopefully) a wolf breath and dust brain Madball again.
I've dreamt of vinyl mad balls, as I have 0 interest in foam, but love the characters. If Mondo is hitting the Groman properties, I'd love to see them revisit blurp balls as well.
Blurp Balls were pretty fun. Probably the only ones that came after Madballs that I really appreciated on the same level. The names escape me, but the T - Rex and the Dracula were my favorites, though I never got around to owning them. Even with Madballs I only owned Dust Brain and one other.
