those rule. Hows everything going with the gig? What time can I show up to set up? Here's some of the stuff I have so far... Did the City paper come through with some print promo?
thanks to everyone who inquired or came out to the show we had in Pittsburgh 12.20.08. it was great fun meeting everyone & hope to see you all at the next show! for those who could not make it or did not know, we hosted our own DIYKAIJUFEST in addition to a screening of the classic Japanese monster film 'War of the Gargantuas' we had us a show.. here are a few highlights: cold pizza from the night before & hot coffee = DIY breakfast morning of the show at the show strange creatures were on display lets us dance said the kaiju to the smog a few old friends rounded out the display the one and only Jeff Lamm, a true friend of Kaiju MARX inspired resin statues by VELOCITRON was very curious what new 'Bechigon' were in the works so i asks Mr. Wilson... he smiles saying something i could not make out, his eyes roll back in his head followed by a gurgle or two then out of dudes mouth crawls this fucker! it drops out of its host and plops to the table and that is that. AMAZING!!! 1/6 scale 'Mothman' produced by beaK DIYKAIJUFEST 2K8 secret release 'pollution crab' 'War of the Kusogon' promotional show display hand silkscreened 'Kusogon' t-shirts & posters original hand made monsters by Haunt Kraft well it was a very cold night in Pittsburgh 12.20.08 but safe to say DIYKAIJUFEST 2K8 was the hottest place to be & all about monsters meeting other monsters!
I certainly enjoyed myself, even my 6 year old said she had fun! Can't wait for the next one, thanks for all your work putting it together dudes
Looks like a awesome time! Glad to see a show PA (albeit way out there in Pittsburgh ) . Whats the low-down with Kusogon? Did I miss something somewhere? Is it new or is it one of those obscure old Kaiju everyone seems to love? phil
Damn, I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeally lovin the Bechigon - is that clear orange? if so... that'll hafta be my next Velocitron piece for sure! Oh, and the following print slays (or maybe I'm wrong and this one's NOT a print) any details on it? I should probably read this sub-forum more, to be more in the loop, but I really love the piece as a whole, rather than split into smaller prints of different parts of the piece.
that Bechigon was a sample contact Ricky/Velocitron for more info. if you don't have a Bechigon yet you are missing out on a supercool toy. i think he may have a few available, can't wait to see whats next! that painting is by Jeff Lamm, it was the original & it sold at the show we had. contact Greasebat on here to see what he has available. Jeff is a solid dude so don't hesitate to contact him. that show was real fun & seeing 'War of the Gargantuas' on the screen was a childhood dream come true. thanks Chad for hooking that up!
Crab Rangoon, thanks for the compliment, I appreciate that. This was a painting I did of a drawing...acrylic on canvas. It sold at the gig, along with the other ones I had. I do have a silk screened two color print of it in the works, just waiting on the printer. It will look pretty much like this and be sized about 11x 14....as soon as its available I'll post a link here somewhere. Let me take a minute to thank everybody here for supporting my art.
I agree, I have 2 different glowing Bechigons, and I'd snag that orange in a second - painted or unpainted. He's still got a couple of the clear one, and the hot pink + black one FS, last I heard. Anyone interested should get at him while they're still available! Thats what I was thinking Cool! I'd love a shot at a print.
No it didnt happen yet. I believe it was moved to April 2012. Kichigai will announce the info sometime soon i hope.
