They are almost always 100% guaranteed to have their faces buried in their phones and void of any sense of excitement or enjoyment in being at the actual event. That's the most annoying thing to me - these toys bring a lot of happiness to fans which you can see by the huge smiles on any real fan's face, and then you see these stone-faced motherfuckers just swoop in with wads of cash and leave like they couldn't give a fuck.
Robert you just described how I act at every lotto That and the expletives I scream when my friends get called ahead of me.
This is my first time going to dcon. Does anyone bring trade bait out with them? Are there any hangouts where collectors get together for some wheeling and dealing?
I'm just really hoping to get some stuff from RxH this year, its been two years since I've made it to his booth before he was completely wiped out. Talking to Mori-san is always great but its always sort of heartbreaking to walk up and see nothing on his table.
But we know you, Deb!!! And I’d say your reactions of similar label have a discerning difference than those who are disingenuous!
I don't think anyone has before, could be wrong, but it's a cool idea. Everyone's mind kinda gets melted from all the toys throughout the weekend so talking trades might be too much for some. I'm sure there are plenty of empty booths on Sunday afternoon where toys could be layed out and traded...or at an impromptu place outside the con?
I can burry my damn face in a phone all day while looking like I'm about to kill some one and still have fun THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
I haven't been so thrilled for an event than this year Dcon, now even for SDCC i been this excited. So far a have a big wish list not to mention that my 3 favorite artists will be in the same event for the first time ever, Rich, Paul and Joe! This kind of events could be so stressful specially if you are traveling from far away, but at the end it is always a good experience meeting new fellow collectors, have the chance to shake your favorite artist hands for the first time and take a selfie with them just enjoy this event and have fun people! See you soon
anyone know the parking situation around there, its right next to disney so i imagine parking is going to be like 2x the amount as it was in pasadena
There are a couple hotels right next to the convention center that all have parking lots or structures, and theres also a Disneyland lot across the street, so theres a lot of parking. Not sure of all the rates though
I was actually asking more along the lines of street parking or metered parking, and not lots that will cost me 25 dollars, I'm pretty sure the hotels near there charge an arm and a leg.
That’s probably not an option from what I remember. There’s housing a bit further down from that area but I think you needed a placard showing that you live there. So that they don’t have people visiting the area taking up the locals parking spaces.
@jvles If you do end up using a hotel lot be really careful about the pricing. The hotel I'm at charges $25 for guests, but non-guests have to pay $60 a day. Like IronPaw said, no meter parking b/c Disneyland wants you to pay at their lot $$$
I believe the Disneyland toy story lot is the one across from the conventions center and it looks like the current rate is $20. Not sure what the other lots charge, I want to say, from going to wondercon that the other lots are around $15 but I cant say for sure
Are we all too nervous to start talking about some of these exclusives!? That Spooky Boogie at Lulu!! View this post on Instagram ( @xSuicide Squadx I saw your status and I've been wondering the same thing) Also hoping to find out about some I don't know about already!
You have no room to complain Mr.! They fucking sent me ALL THE WAY to Newark New Jersey near New York from Michigan before i could take my freaking flight to California. Lmfao
Ugh driving from San Francisco to Anaheim fucking sucks. The last 20 miles took over an hour. Good to finally be here though!
