Finally got rid of the detolf that was in this corner in favor of a milsbo. Im a big fan of it so far. Not super tough to put together, and decent build quality for Ikea.

Wonderful and very playful. Just Love that banner! Can you please tell me what it says? Where is it from? Makes the whole display look festive :D

It’s an antique banner for an electrician’s festival - purchased from Koji at his Gakyudo shop last spring. Going to Koji’s home (which is where his private shop is located) was like going to a retro museum and having everything available for sale (affordably as well!).

@JMRampage Thank you for the explanation and additional photo!:D Looks like lots of interesting things at Koji's. That banner is the bee's knees!

Hoping to have a second Milsbo case assembled soon. In preparation, I've been looking into ways of adding additional shelves. Seems like a fair amount of people use the Milsbo for an indoor plant house! There are already accessories for adding mounts and acrylic shelves easily.

I haven't ordered or tested any of these options, I'm still in the brain storming stage. I can't seem to find metal brackets for durability and maximum shelf weight bearing options. So far, I've only found plastic ones...
If you know of better ideas, please share!

The brackets that come with the Milsbo are plastic. The glass shelves are pretty heavy already. I don't think toys would add that much more weight.

@Mr. Humphreys where are you getting the extra shelves from? does ikea sell them separately?

@SstatusSkuo I couldn't find shelves on the website. Planning a visit to IKEA in March, so I will ask their ordering department. Other options are pricing glass cutting shops (I have some glass shelves from a remodel), and possibly custom cut acrylic shelves from a local shop. You can get acrylic shelves on Etsy. Still trying to decide, but prefer glass.

It's too bad Ikea products don't have more uniform dimensions with interchageable componants. The 'stand alone' glass shelves (i.e. the Billy glass shelves) are a good price for tempered glass. (Glass shops can't cut tempered glass like they can for panes of typ glass and custom tempered glass is $$). You should give Ikea a call if that's the only thing you need. Ikea has some worthy items, but shopping there is kind of like the zombie mall in Dawn of the Dead.

I went with this company, Modern Aqua, and got some additional shelves made for my Milsbo cabinet to hold all of my RxH stuffs. They do just fine--and came with the mounting hardware, if I remember correctly. On the site, they sell some too.

So I contacted IKEA, and they do not sell Milsbos shelves at this time. You can order some glass shelves (Utrusta, Billy, and some others), but frustratingly, not Milsbos. @Vombie thank you for the Modern Aqua referral. I'm going to try to find something locally, before online. I did hear that Lowe's will cut glass sheets for free, if you buy from them, no for Home Depot.

On a happy note, picked up my carpenter friend from the airport yesterday! He's here through April, so hoping he can squeeze in display case assembly between contractor projects! "New" (since 2021!) and other unshelved toys are really piling up!

p.s. thank you @Biff for the reminder that tempered glass can't be cut (safety glass will just crumble into small bits). And "... zombie mall in Dawn of the Dead" is a good way to describe IKEA, but I do notice that some locations are less zombie-ish than others! :)

Not exactly a "case", but it will be used to display some toys and ceramics (on top)...

Went furniture shopping, and decided the tansu placed on stands, would make a nice living room console!
