My first purchase in a really long time. I always wanted a Monstock Cordyceps, but the difficulty to obtain in the U.S. and price made it hard to get. This guy was a bit cheaper due to the obvious defect. However, I kind of like it that way and am debating on weather or not to leave it that way. (I was told that I can potentially fix the mushroom with a blow dryer and cold water.) I also got the Sunguts Dunkleosteus - a fantastic sculpt! I'll be on the hunt for more!

Thank you @chimply.kaiju for keeping me on top of this, as I thought I was going to miss out on the only painted set I needed of my favorite M1 sculpts. Glow to boot!

 

Holy shit, @Lixx. That is one of the toughest, but prettiest pairs I've seen on this board.

@xSuicide Squadx Wow nice Target Earth Bagun, don't see those too often! I think the M1 Glow Gargantuans seem pretty available now- at least on YJA. But yes agree, beautiful set!

Thanks, @Lixx! Only one I've seen anywhere online since I ran into one in a case during my Tokyo trip! Got a great, great price on it, too! I'll have to dig around a bit on YAJ for that Gargantuan set when I have the potential funds for it!

 

The TE Bagun is extra cool to me, because it was done in consultation with the artist of the original illustration from the Nakaoka book (same illustration as on the header of the toy). If I remember correctly, the concept of the sculpt was to emulate the style of vintage Bullmarks.

One of the best toy creations from Nakaoka's monsters, and an excellent find!

 

Ugh...those dunkleosteus we're no joke. Their jaws were so powerful. They could open their mouths so quickly that it would create a suction that their prey could not escape...and the force of the bite was supposed to be nuts.

 

Nice! I have read about the powerful jaw bit, but I didn't hear about the suction part. Thanks for that knew but of knowledge.
There's a dunkleosteus fossil at our field museum, and it's one of my favorite fossils there. That's why when I saw this sculpt, I immediately gravitated towards it. Now that I have it in-hand, this could easily be one of my favorite sunguts toys, if not the favorite!

I'm going to have to hunt down some more now. Too bad Sunguts is so difficult to obtain in the U.S these days..

That's really, really rad information, @akum6n! I didn't know the original artist was directly involved with both the header art, and with Sato - San himself with the sculpt! Now I love this one even more! I actually snapped a couple photos of the header art that's in the TE thread, too!
