    I really love this dude too, Atom really killed it with that new head, but would have liked to see a different body to go with him too.

    Damn, I would really love one too, but I still can't believe people are dropping 1k$ on these. Schmos like me just have to appreciate them from the photos I guess. Not so surprised about the Mandarake thing though - they have an amazingly good handle of what people will pay, and always seem to find someone to buy it at their prices. Only rarely have I seen them drop the prices a bit.

    How do mand actually acquire there figures do they buy them off you? Or are they a retailer because they must buy them cheap to sell for higher prices due to the company making money.

    It is basically like a giant secondhand store for otaku goods. They buy goods from the public, based on their evaluation of them they'll give you a price, and then assign a fair market value to sell it at. I have heard that some pieces might be done on commission too, though from what I saw and spoke with the employees I never experienced this personally. My 'friend' at the store was also a sofubi collector, so I know from time to time he would sell his own stuff to the store, but that's about it.

    Whenever it happened they definitely both sold out according to his blog. I expect they went really fast as per usual . . .
    considering the ridiculous prices these have been fetching on the secondary market it's no surprise people are queuing up to buy them at retail.

    I like the pink, because it has the classic Atom A. Flesh thing going on, but would trade it in a heartbeat for the first release.
