Hello Skullbrainers. I'm not really new here but I have been mostly lurking. Finally I have gotten around working on my own line of resin cast toys. Here is a look at the first two (of four) prototypes which will be cast soon. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys Very well sculpted, but not my cup of tea. I was going to say that it doesn't really fit the subject matter of skullbrain, but I guess a lot of the resin stuff doesn't.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys Nice and cleeean. Still trying to figure the mouth thing out. Are those breasts? I like the head and shoes on the skinny one.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys Saw these on flickr, love the boob tooth guy. Reminds me of a doug tennapel guy.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys I love the clean sculpts and titty teeth. These are so great.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys Mega-Nipple Mutant! It's got a mouth in the crotch too? Twisted. Cool stuff and, as stated, VERY clean. Great job.
Re: Superverse - new upcoming line of resin cast toys Thank you everyone. I am happy to hear that you enjoy these. Currently I am working on the third prototype which should be done soon. Until then another little teaser...
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 070509 Very fresh vision and well sculpted. Love em! Please put me on your notification list when these are available for purchase. Bob
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 070509 nice sculpting skills. couple of the pieces look a little top heavy for resin. the boobmouth guy in particular, if he needs that wedge to stand now, he'll need one when cast in resin too.
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 070509 Thanks everyone for the replies and comments. @ Grapefruit Goblin: I am using Super Sculpey Firm most of the time. @ uberboy: None of the figures need any base plates or wedges. The ones you see in the photos are only there because I have already separated the arms and legs from the torso for the reproduction process. If any of the figures will need any support after casting then I haven't done my job right. @ Bob Conge: Thanks. I'll send you a PM soon.
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 070509 Jilian West, Taro Kern and a guest for added blobpus scale reference fun.
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 090509 Jilian's feet remind me of something.... Is it Aeon Flux?
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 090509 Wow!!! I think I took that chick w/ the gun to prom? Her disposition certainly hasn't gotten any better!!!!
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 090509 Hahaha. That might stem from the fact that she is not she but he. If you know what I mean? Here is an update on the latest and last prototype. Next up is making the moulds and casting. Cheers and thanks for looking.
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 170509 I've been following this guy's progress on flickr. Great work, such a dynamic pose and clean finish.
Re: Superverse - new line of resin cast toys - updated 170509 Thank you a lot, you two. Glad to hear you like it. I am now in the process of mold making and casting whilst finishing the last pages of the packing design. If you're interested what it will look like here is a small sneak peek. I've also started posting the finished artwork for the other characters including a short paragraph accompanying every panel so as to better immerse everyone in the world surrounding these toys. You can either follow my blog, my twitter or my flickr account, hell even my facebook account (links are in my signature). The final label/title for these is "netzwerk". I am not sure if I should post the stories here as well and if it's ok to do so. Since it's more related to the characters as the toys themselves. Someone let me know how you feel about it.
Re: netzwerk - new line of resin cast toys - updated 310509 The character with stove pipe hat is killer!
Re: netzwerk - new line of resin cast toys - updated 310509 Thanks, ADDEccentric. And yes, he wouldn't shy away from murder either. Killer indeed.
