really cool astronaut baby. In general, however, as amazing as the sculpt is, this toy is a total turn off for me. Just repulsvie and vile, which is exactly what it's going for. More for everyone else

Luckily, my lady digs on pretty much all the exact same toys I do, but neither of us have a say in what the other purchases regardless. I love the Autopsy Baby. It's like my Cannibal Corpse of sofubi.

To each his/her own but they remind me of something that would be sold at Tower Records before the collapse.

Brian/mondocoyote's custom took this to another level but the others...meh.

The gross out factor is just too high for me. I'm down with rotting dinos and the like, and I like a good hideous tentacle creature as much as the next weirdo, but the subject matter of this toy is just too over-the-top. A very detailed sculpt, but the details make me queasy. To each their own. I can see the appeal for certain collectors I guess.

hahaha, I never realized there is such an opposition to these babies. For me, I like a toy that I can hold, play with, admire, and just be entertained by it. These babies, with their super actual baby like posture have an interesting magnitude the moment you see them, but with the detailed sculpt, the varying marbling, and the surprisingly versatile articulation, they become a piece, that for myself at least, will hold my attention for a long while. They are just endlessly fun pieces to me. I don't feel the grossness at all. So I guess it's true, to each his own.

And let me just add, the marbling is at least half the appeal of them, Luke does an insanely good job at it. The level of ingenuity brought to the toys with the marbling is extremely impressive.

I definitely love the grotesque-ness of the babies. The only version I currently own is the Obake Edition from SDCC. Personally, I'd love to see a highly realistic, bloody, gory paint job on one. So far, the most detailed I've seen have only highlighted the numerous visuals in the sculpt. I love this figure, regardless.

Im very fond of the autopsy baby series, they're surprisingly whimsical in person and a great deal of fun to pose! I almost prefer the marbled and unpainted versions, they work so well as a stand alone sculpt.

try counting all the faces on the staple baby, it's disturbing. :D

I got one from the leftovers of SDCC at Lulubell, and I echo the disturbing factor, but it's unreal in hand. You just stare at it like "Wow, this exists" lol.

I don't really understand the aversion at all though. I mean there are some really heavily Satanic pieces in the realm of Soft Vinyl and there are gruesome things like Cadaver Twins, and Ollie looks like a fricking serial killer. These are actually done better, and WOW me more to be honest. As supershallow says, the faces just keep poppin out, and the sculpt is really detailed in person. Once you have one you definitely want more. Yeah it's creepy. Truly. It's not trying to be disturbing it IS. That's the best thing about it! ;) I did get a nice glow/blue/splash of red marble, I'll post pics when I dig him up from the backyard...but I just love mine.

Just to discern the difference, I am not as much of a fan of the GERGLE, (the one with the tongue out) I am talking the Staple Baby.

I HATED dolls as a little kid. My extended family would try and push dolls onto me in typical "all girls like dolls, right?" fashion, and being the coy little asshole I was, I'd say "No thanks, I don't like it. But my neighbor likes dolls, I'll give it to her." ...which would immediately result in said family member grabbing the doll and making sure I didn't do just that, because they paid for it after all. Let's just say they learned pretty fast that I was not a doll person.

That's the thing. I always found dolls extremely unsettling with their blank, dead eyes, and creepy ever-still faces. Being an "adult" now (and I say that with caution because most people would argue that I'm far from one  ) and having an appreciation for creepiness, I can honestly say that I love the autopsy baby. It takes everything that scared me about dolls as a child, adds a healthy helping of gore on top, and mixes it with marbled nightmares. Unfortunately they're out of my price range as far as toys go, but I definitely love looking at them.

The sculpt is very impressive and the quality of the articulation is wonderful but I just can't see myself putting a toy on my shelf that I know would make a couple of my friends feel really bad.

That being said I'm glad it was made and that people are enjoying it so much. One of the neatest part of liking toys in general is that with so many choices there is always something out there for everyone and no one needs to have the same taste to enjoy the same hobby.
