If I put a vinyl toy in ice, not on ice, but in it like freezing vinyl in water, will it destroy the paint or vinyl?

it definitely wouldnt harm the vinyl but possibly the paint, but even that I bet it wouldnt... but you would wanna take it apart to fully dry later.

I would not, you will make the plastic more brittle and easier to break. I think the breaks that rarely happen in shipping- but do happen- are due to the plastic getting too cold in transit, either in a truck/warehouse, or the cargo container of an aircraft.

Yes, you are definitely risking damage to the vinyl. It can get brittle if it gets too cold. I had a B-Club Micras reissue outside on a 30 degree day once to shoot some photos in the snow. It took a three foot tumble off my deck into a pile of snow and one of the horns broke off.

Thanks all . I will try this project with some cheap throw away toys. I want to freeze some stuff in ice and try photographing in different lighting.
