Big size Kinnikuman PVC figure open pre order. View this post on Instagram It is a 10 times scale up of the original keshi figure. The website says if they get too many orders they will make more later but I don't think that will happen. Here is the reason why. As a Kinnikuman keshi, M.U.S.C.L.E and manga fan, i am very disappointed with the face. the eyebrows should have been kept straight like the original keshi. This one looks to much like the current Kinnikuman. and the mouth is too much in the middle... it needs to be more up. The BIGGEST problem withe the current kinnikuman is the NOSE! The original kinnikuman had a round nose. he did not have a nose bridge... and that was his character... he was ugly but unique. I think the reason five star toys is so successful is because the sculpts look like the original 80s Kinnikuman characters that the fans grew up with...(actually thinking about it more made me realize five star is popular because of the cool color variants... limited hard to find runs... ) also I wish it had a cape... That is my rant.
I agree with you in principle. The sculpt isn't the best, in terms of proportions and the details you mentioned. Still...it's a big-ass Kinnikuman...and it's gonna take a lot for me to resist this!
If anyone here has info on how or where I can acquire one of those Meat-kun snapbacks, I will be forever in your debt. I understand it's not Five Star, but by god I need one of these hats.
Reviving this thread. Junkman is finally out, and fivestar had him available on their website (I don’t know if they still do) but they only process domestic orders so I was out of luck. I’ve been eagerly waiting for him since the prototype was shown here in this thread like two years ago. I’m slowly building up my collection of characters. I’ve picked up Atlantis, Warsman and Buffaloman recently when I can find a good deal on them. It’s really been one of my favorite lines for quite some time, and one line that I feel is still fun to collect.
I snagged a junkman from their site. First figure of theirs that I’ve been disappointed in. Totally not up to their normal quality. The arms don’t look like they were sculpted right and there’s a gap at the shoulders where they connect. To top it off mine doesn’t even stand up. I’ll try a hair dryer at some point, but it was a pretty big let down. Five star blanks are the only thing I collect at this point. My five star shelf is completely maxed out and I have no more room
Whoa...bummer to hear about Junkman. I figured there's be some balance issues with those massive shield-things, but I didn't expect bad joints or any sort of drop off in quality.
Aww man, that’s a bummer to hear about Junkman. Maybe add something inside the legs to weigh it down? My gold ashuraman has trouble standing. I have to position one pair of arms back for him to stand unaided.
Also just a heads up- I started a thread in the custom figure sub forum; I painted a fivestar robinmask if anyone is interested in seeing my take on him.
The shields don’t help, but his feet are wonky as shit anyways and wouldn’t stand either way. I’ll post a pic of his shoulder joints later. I was shocked to see it considering how tight five star is.
