Don't know anything Aimodo, but I saw this guy this morning and thought @toothaction would dig him. I searched here and found just a couple references to this maker in the past couple years, @andy and @The Moog might have some info on them. This guy is apparently called Yasuo No Otomodachi:
Definitely a tribute or companion to this guy i've wanted for a while . . . . its a vintage missile firing robot by S.K.H I like Aimodo but his stuff is hard to find if you dont live in Japan. Thanks for the tickle, @TiredChildren! Yeah, I do like him, so good call. Funny that you mention him, too, as Joe reached out to me about the S.K.H toy when he was first doing his research. I'd say more about that, but as we call all see his report is right above.
Aimado = アイモ堂 As far as i know, he's only been producing vinyl toys for a few years. Not long. Some more pics . . .
If I remember correctly,Yasuo No Otomodachi is a representation of the robot shown on the flip side of the header of the SHK missile firing robot that was never made. Saw the sculpt at last Design Festa. I really like it.
I am not so sure Paul, maybe that was the next guy he had planned? The robot on the reverse is a bit different, he doesn't quite have the 'nose' of this fella, and a much wider mouth (or moustache, as I like to see it) - he also has the same 'clamp' hands - whereas the blue/red fellow seems more a direct riff on the SKH original, with his big eyebrow eyes and flat nosepiece. For reference, here are the two sides of the header: But anyways, a very lovely tribute to this cool robot, and just a great toy. I really dig the Yasuo as well as the silver brother shown. I hope this is a sign of more robots to come from Aimodo. Great thread start, James!
You are correct Ultrakaiju. My bad! (But i do think they mentioned making V-2 when I met them with Don.) Damn I love that vintage V-1. Couldn't find one on my last trip.
I have a few of the boob monsters. Cool to see a new figure that is so different than the current line up. Angel Abby sometimes sells their toys.
Nah, that was a typo by mr. dumb-arse here . . . Its Aimodo. Also, the Otomodachi series robot has a reversible head. I did'nt notice that earlier. I looked-up the word 'Otomodachi' it translates roughly to 'Friend'.
I have some earlier aimodo. Full of character. I love them. Hard to find outside Japan unfortunately. The red one is a collaboration with mars

The robot is pretty cool but some of his other stuff like these little guys with a rainbow variety of color are pretty damn cool. Those glow sets look fantastic!
Weapon sets for the Otomodachi released at the most recent Super Festival offered up for sale on their IG with overseas orders mentioned!

I picked up the Nakajima Capsule Robo G tribute version with a boxed set of weapons a few months ago. It's pretty awesome.
