I'll be there with the boys for sure. If you are into patches, pins or other weird stuff and have time to kill make sure you hit up strange ways.
Hope everyone has fun! I'm sitting this one out since I don't currently or plan to collect Izu's stuff, but I'm sure there will be some amazing pieces there. You all better share some photos!
Agreed. I don't own any BGT either, but it'll be a great opportunity to see everyone again at a minimum.
I'll have my bikkuriman-style foil stickers with me so if you guys can find me or actually figure out who I am, feel free to cop a slap. <3
Richs last show was a banger! I have a lot going on currently. But I'm making the trek bum ass knee waiting for surgery and my wife had gallblatter surgery today. I'm also not a huge Izu ( his new demons look nuts ) fan but I'd try and make it out to any show and support DV and see all you lovely people. Granted I'm only an hour away and broken but I'm coming!!
y'all mothafuckas need izu. im very partial to the shikabane kaiju but the ningyos and sunga couple are beautiful as well imo!
im dumb and booked work for this weekend that i cant cancel so i wont be coming out. woulda loved to work this event
This new tattoo sculpt of his, with the snake coming out of the face, is amazing looking. I don't know if I'll own one, but damn is it cool.
Just got home and figured I'd share the few photos I grabbed. I will say I loved the gallery space that Rich put together. Loved the layout, loved the overall scheme of things. However I was not really impressed with the mechanics of how the afternoon played out. Different strokes for different folks. I'll leave it there. I'd like to go back there on another day when there's no opening going on just to soak it all up in a different environment. And a random photo of myself, Alien Patrol, taken at the mall earlier in the day. Look out MIB!
Looks like Izu got to paint some of Rich's pieces too! Interesting stuff! I'm much more a fan of the "meaty" stuff rather than the "muddy" though. The top shelf stuff is kind of hard to read from far away, maybe they're more impressive/interesting in hand.
Also who was the gent with the orange snapback that travelled down from MA? We chatted outside the venue. I know you're on here. I can sense it.
Did you get anything @MisterYuck ? Also did u put your stickers on the cork board. Cause I did take one that was on there. I said "these weren't on there earlier" also I'm not the orange hat dude, was just wondering
Some pics from the show This show was incredible. A lot of great people and new friends. These are just some Of my favorites from the show. I must say actually seeing some of Izus creations in hand really changed my overall opinion of his work when it comes to toys. What a cool guy and killer show. My spoils below. Spoiler: Spoils of the Massacre IZU Monster - Hellboy
Didn't snag anything, no. And yes I did put a couple of my stickers on that cork board on my way out. Glad someone snagged one! Wish I was able to figure out who was who!
Are we going to have to wear SB-ordered nametags next time? And wow @HardDragon - nice score! I really love the splatter effect on the toy you got!
I didn't wear my vest, otherwise I'd have had my SB and stormtrooper patches. Was wearing my Bog Squad shirt, though.
Show was awesome, and it was great hanging with you guys! Sorry you had a rough experience, yuck! Feel bad we pushed you to come out, hope it was somewhat worth it wish we coulda chatted, man. Grabbed the ollie blank with the glass eye, so pumped on my pick, thanks again, Rich for everything! View this post on Instagram
The show was fun as expected. I got to see lots of good folks and meet some new ones in the flesh for the first time. Izumonster had a good showing with multiple figures of his as one-offs and micro-runs, plus a few one-off Ollies that looked insane. There were also those beautiful blank Ollies. Did anyone else check out the buckets of flash? I was digging around a little while listening for my number. I felt like a little kid playing with the toys in the doctor's waiting room while the adults wait for their names to be called. Here's my gallery of photos. They're not the best (I think) since I got there a little late and didn't want to block the shelves to much pretending too be a photojournalist. Most were taken while I was standing around talking to Ed. https://flic.kr/s/aHskVJ4UUu
