This thread has inspired me; I'm going to have to do the same once all my airbrush equipment and paint comes in. Keep it up! And where do you purchase multiple blanks at a time? Seriously!
thank you! i actually got the jet jaguar along with a couple other pieces off a friend to practice on! the luftkaisers i bought last year from TAG. lots of more common blank figures pass through here and instagram constantly! stuff that people wouldnt throw a fit over if painted!
I've had some good things to say about your efforts so far, so I don't feel too terrible giving an honest crit on this one. Love it for the most part, but the whiteness of those teeth is causing them to contrast with the rest of it in a pretty distracting way. For me, I'd go so far as to say it ruins the piece. I think it'd benefit immensely if you found some way to tone them down a bit,
ya know, i thought about doing an off-white egg shell-y color but i felt like it took away from its cartoon influenced colorway. but i still appreciate your honesty 100%
I don't think the contrast from the teeth to the purples and green are a bad thing. Like what @MoonspellxRites mentioned above, it's cartoony....I guess I'm just a fan of cartoony schemes. The swirl in the eyeball makes it though! Green and purple are just too good together.
Here's a couple shots I took of Manny's Evolved Finkler. Very awesome, very clean custom. Thank you, Manny!
thanks! the head and body are different vinyl colors so i did my best to hide that while keeping it primarily yellow
I'm usually on board with Traditional Kaiju people like toothaction who think that new painters tend to ruin stuff by making their work too "busy," but from what I see here you seem to have a nice grasp on keeping your paint schemes loose and putting in just the right amount of detail.
thanks! im really fond of loose sprays like classic kaiju toys tend to have but try to mix it up with detailing eyes and mouths.
